Reed's Pov
I spent a significant part of the afternoon at the hospital, sitting quietly beside Mom's bed while she engaged in gentle conversation with Reina. I felt the weight of the moment, so I didn't speak much, but I listened intently to their light banter. Every now and then, Mom would share a dry joke or playfully tease me about something small, and I couldn't help but laugh. It brought me a sense of relief to see that faint spark of joy flicker in her eyes, even amidst such a challenging time.
When it was time to leave, I hugged her a little longer than usual, kissed her forehead, and promised I'd be back soon. She smiled, told me not to fuss so much, and waved me off like she always did.
