We dropped Lin Li off first.
The car slowed to a stop in front of her apartment building, and she reluctantly unbuckled her seatbelt, clearly still energized from the day. Before getting out, she turned back to look at me, her expression uncharacteristically serious.
"Sister Xiyu," she said, then glanced at Yun Si. "Please remember to go home early and sleep. You have an early shoot tomorrow."
I raised an eyebrow. "Since when did you start acting like my mother?"
Lin Li flushed immediately. Yun Si laughed softly from the driver's seat. "She's right."
"Yes, yes," I waved my hand dismissively. "Go home. Sleep early. I know."
Only after Lin Li disappeared into the building did Yun Si ask the driver to start the car again. The city lights stretched endlessly ahead of us, neon reflections sliding across the windshield as we merged back into traffic.
