I couldn't stay in the room with Alex after what I heard… it hurt too much. Every time I glanced at her, all I could see was that moment — her whispering into the phone, voice low, calm, and careful. "We can't let her get too comfortable." The words echoed in my head like a curse. I couldn't breathe in there. Couldn't stand the silence between us that felt so loud it was screaming.
So, I did what any emotionally unstable, possibly self-destructive idiot would do — I walked out. No protective gear, no jacket, just me and my wounded pride.
The hallways were dimly lit, golden lights flickering down the long corridor. My footsteps sounded too sharp against the polished floor, echoing through the emptiness. The hotel was eerily quiet for a place filled with teenage werewolves and vampires. I guess curfew actually meant something when you had teachers lurking around.
