After settling everything, Emma decided to stay at her mother's house for a few days.
"The bed in my room is 1.5 meters wide. Should we sleep separately?"
Alex smirked slightly.
"That's enough space. I'll just hug you while we sleep."
That night, with both her body and mind exhausted, Emma nestled into Alex's arms, trying to find a comfortable position to soothe herself.
Alex kissed the top of her head gently.
"If you ever can't talk to your mother, just leave it to me."
Emma gave a wry smile.
"It's sad to say, but now my mother trusts you more than me. Someone so stubborn and biased like her never lets anyone feel at ease."
She reminded him,
"Don't get too close to my mother. She's the type who likes to take advantage. If she clings to you, I'm not responsible."
Alex chuckled softly, his tone calm.
"Emma, no matter how messy your family is, I don't mind at all."
He laughed lightly.
"My family isn't any less complicated. Haven't you met my mother already?"
