Jonathan closed his eyes. A minute later, he opened them again, his gaze calmer than before.
He placed the divorce certificate into the bottom drawer, face down. Even now, the words "divorce certificate" still made his eyes ache.
On the other side, Addison felt completely different.
She put her divorce certificate somewhere highly visible, easy to reach anytime.
"Hello, Emma, it's me." She answered the phone.
Emma's tired voice came from the other end.
"Sister-in-law, you're not coming back today?"
"I'm not. I already packed my things and asked Jonathan to have someone send them over. Emma, from now on, just call me Addison."
She was no longer her sister-in-law.
At the watch boutique, Lucy had just finished choosing a gift for Daniel.
As she paid, she thought about the present, a pair of couple watches. Hers had a pink dial, and his was an elegant jade green.
"Miss Lucy, if everything looks good, I'll wrap the watches for you."
