Watanabe Mariwas surprised at my answer for a second, I had appeared in front of them out of nowhere and was now standing between them and the other group of people who were currently acting off .
If I'm not wrong, the two women in front of me seemed to be quite perceptive, they were currently initiating the Magical sequence in their CADs as if getting ready to use their magic any second now .
But just as they were about to do so, a lot of things happened, there was no longer a situation that required the use of magic to solve, my appearance and lastly, the weird situation behind me .
The guys who were about to release Magic just now was moving as if they were participating in some kind of play, their moves weren't funny to the two of the girls, but to an orange red haired girl who was stronger and far more resilient than most the magicians here it was .
Erika released a bit of a smirk at this kind of development, others took some time to wake up from their trance, unable to completely grasp what just happened, even though the chaotic situation was handled, this weird state of all the people present made one doubt what was exactly going on here, that's why Mari-senpai was asking about the reason we all gathered here like this .
" I don't know about why these guys are acting like as if they were in some sort of a play, but I myself is here for the detention .
At my words, the senpai with a shorthair frowned slightly and raised an eyebrow at my words, I can tell that she seem to have already labeled me as a bothering person, a nuisance to her, but she still said :
Since it was your first mistake and no one seemed to have gotten hurt, the Student Council President had convinced me to be more reliant and let this matter go, but only for this time around, if you did something like this without authorization again, I will have you expelled .
Hearing the threatening tone in her voice, I couldn't help but mutter silently saying :
" As if something like this is possible .
What did you just say ? .
" Nothing, I'm thankful for your kindness and I promise to not do something like that again .
It seem that she also have quite the sharp senses as well, I involuntarily blurted these words earlier faintly, but she was still able to hear me, it's better not to annoy her anymore, it's good that I didn't get a detention, at least now I won't need to worry about getting an earful from my mother later .
Passing by me, she snorted slightly, I understood that this was an exclamation of how angry she was with me or maybe her friend for asking her to spare me, either way, she passed by me and headed to the group of people behind me, asking about what exactly happened here .
Honoka hesitantly tried to say something but a butterfly made of light appeared before her eyes and only her was able to see it, the golden butterfly caught her attention enough for Mari to hear the story that Tatsuya had already came up with .
The president of the Public Morals Committee Watanabe Mari didn't accept the explanation of Tatsuya about merely trying to see the process of QuickDraw in person, but due to there not being another person who was willing to share anymore details, she accepted it with a bit of displeasure .
I understood why she was like that, the expression on all the people present was a bit weird, enough to make anyone think that something must have happened, otherwise these guys won't be reacting like this at least .
The one with the most weird expression of all the people present was none other than Erika, she was laughing a few seconds ago, but after Mari-senpai appearance here, her expression was quite difficult to describe, either the two had history, or their families mostly do .
She is quite cute, right ? .
" She is a bit more nuisance to me, but maybe she is cute .
I blurted this absentmindedly, still thinking about why was Erika reaction as such and wondering what exactly will be Mari-senpai decision regarding all that had happened or at least what she believed to had happened here, the person who asked me this was none other than the Student Council President Saegusa Mayumi .
I responded to her without much of thought, but then I realized that these kinds of questions shouldn't be given to me for answering and I was about to take my answer back, but I then saw her chuckle slightly with a mischievous smile on her face, then there was a glaring coming from behind me and from in front of me as well .
I saw that the student council president seemed to be only aware of only one as she pointed her finger towards the front, following where she was pointing to, I saw that due to the distance not being that long, the girl that was being discussed was currently glaring at me with a flushed face .
Then without even waiting for whatever that was currently going on, she brought the oblivious Mizuki with her and fled the scene, normally that would have triggered a reaction from the strict Watanabe Mari, but not this time, she just sighed and let this matter go .
The other person glaring at me was Juvia, without even needing to ask, I understood why was she doing something like this, but I only shook my head at this kind of development and didn't try to say anything, I just focused on how will the senpais deal with that matter .
The student council president being the peaceful pigeon she was, tried to solve this situation peacefully, but Watanabe Mari was not willing to just accept the situation to end like that, she seemed to be certain that something was wrong here and that something was most likely linked to me .
It's just that there were no clues of me ever doing anything, she still lectured the people in front about how severe was the consequences of using Magic at the entrance could have been, which made Honoka who no longer charmed by the golden butterfly to have a grave expression on her face, which was caught by Mari-senpai, but she didn't think much of it .
The situation had finally came to an end, with the students still bowing down and apologizing for causing a scene, then both the Blooms and the Weeds dispersed, but Mari still asked Tatsuya to come back tomorrow and the reason she gave was to hear more about what happened .
Just as I too was about to head home, I found that my arm was being pulled by someone, the student council president was the one who was holding my arm, seeing me turning to her with a confused expression, she then said in a sulking and berating tone :
Ryuu-san shouldn't have forgotten about the meeting after the school ? .
" I didn't forget, but I thought since I had detention, then the meeting would be postponed to another time, that's all .
Well, you no longer need to go to detention, we have some business with you, follow along, Mayumi, you shouldn't get so touchy with your junior, especially not with this one .
Being reminded of what was she currently doing by her friend, the student council president face become flushed and she directly let go of my hand while denying that there was anything weird to her actions just now, Leo being the friendly person he was bid me farewell and Tatsuya nodded his head, still keeping the facade that he was a man with few words .
That guy would turn into a nonstop chattering box the second he start talking about Magic, can't say anything bad about this, he did help me quite strongly in enhancing my own Magical Theory, but just as I was about to nod at them as well, I happened to caught someone trying to slip out of this place and turned to the student council president and said :
" Shouldn't we need Miyuki-san to be present as well, if I recalled correctly you earlier said that you needed to meet with both of us .
My words earned me another glare, but this time it was from Miyuki who was trying to leave this place and go back with her brother, me suddenly blurting that out, resulted in her failing to do this, so she end up glaring at me for a few seconds, her expression was normal on the surface, but only me and Tatsuya were aware of her current state .
You are right, I almost forgot, Miyuki-san, I hope you can come with us as well, this matter shouldn't take long, so if you had other business, you can tend to them later .
My reminder ended up in crushing the hopes of Miyuki, but I still didn't feel any guilt regarding this, maybe a tiny bit of guilt from seeing her deadpan expression, anyway we bid the others farewell and went to the school building again .
After reaching the school council president room, I finally understood what they wanted us for, it was just like what Miyuki expected earlier this morning, the Student Council was recruiting the top of the entrance exam and the second place too .
Once I entered the room, I was met with the startled gazes of the other three people in the room, the orange haired petite senpai from before was there, she was inspecting the flower I conjured earlier, but she wasn't the only one who was interested in that conjured flower, another senpai that seemed to be quite strict judging by the deadpan expression on her face was also there .
The third person was a guy who seemed to be bothered by something as he looked at Miyuki, as for when he saw me, he seemed to become more vigilant but also respectful to the extreme, his reaction made me unable to understand what exactly was going on with him .
After we have introduced ourselves, I was just following suit after Miyuki, we were introduced to the body of the students council, then we got offered respectable positions in the student council, I was going to become the 1st secretary under the president and the vice president in the hierarchy of power .
I also got to understand that this position wasn't initially vacant, I would be fulfilling the role of Nakajou Azusa who would also be fulfilling for the role of Ichihara Suzune as the vice president, but now in her third year, the latter decided to work more on her academical achievement and decided to take on the position of A Treasurer .
After hearing what was this about, I instantly refused to accept this position, I instantly saw that for the first time Watanabe Mari seemed to smile slightly in her chair and turn to the student council president sitting on the meeting table and say :
I had told you that he would refuse, a Yotsuba Family member will not like the idea of... .
" Oh, well, it has actually nothing to do with me being from the Yotsuba or not, it's just that I think you all here are doing your best to help the students, to tell you the truth, I'm just thinking of this as troublesome and I'm lazy enough to think this as nothing but a drag, so I refuse .
I tried to sound as serious and as polite as possible, but looking at their dumbstruck expression on all the faces in the room except for one, Miyuki, I was able to see that none of them had expected this to be the reason, the girl that was about to continue talking about how I was acting high and mighty was at loss of words and that seem to made her become even more frustrated than anything that happened before .
More and more, I couldn't help but think that she might be the long lost sister of Erika, both of them know how to be nuisance, the student council room fell into silent for a while and no one dare to say anything for a while, they didn't think that I would refuse so bluntly, so it seem to me that they were now thinking of devising another plan to lure me in .
" But if you don't mind, I may have the best candidate to take my place in the student council, this person is right here as well luckily .
It took a few seconds for the people in the room to understand what or better yet who was I taking about, after they seemed to have realized what I was trying to say, their faces lit up one after the other, then the student council president rose up from her seat and invited Miyuki to join the student council president in my place .
Miyuki took a few seconds trying to understand what kind of situation was this, but she still nodded and agreed to join in my place to the student council, seeing that since I had already refused the invitation and that there shouldn't be anymore reasons for me to stay here, I was about to excuse myself when I was suddenly called by someone that I would have never expected .
The head of the Public Morals Committee Watanabe Mari called out for me, just as I stood up and prepared myself to leave, she asked me to come to the Public Morals Committee room tomorrow morning before classes, I wanted to ask about the reason for that, but she only gave me a vague answer, saying that I should be able to know tomorrow .
Even though I didn't like to interact with her or her position anymore, I still decided to agree for now, bidding the people here farewell, I got out of the room, then met up with Juvia and went home .
On my way home, I saw that Tatsuya was still waiting for his sister by the school gates, Leo and the other two girls were no where in sight, so they should have left earlier, I told him that what we agreed upon had been done, leaving the position to Miyuki was this guy's idea, refusal was my choice, I really didn't want to be burdened with such responsibilities, not to mention that I already disliked the current system, so I don't want to join the student council and be part of it .
He thanked me for agreeing to do this, the recommendation, but I told him that even without me recommending her she should have been able to get that position without an issue,but him being him, he still insisted on thanking me for it, I let go of trying to persuade him and asked knowing the answer already, I asked if he would like to accompany me back, but as expected, he said :
I will be waiting for Miyuki .
