At least for Rhett, it felt completely different.
Almost on instinct, he pulled Kelsey tighter against him, holding her with a strength she couldn't possibly fight.
Kelsey frowned and tried to shove him away. "I can walk by myself."
"Weren't you just scared? Not anymore?" Rhett looked down at her stubborn face and didn't loosen his grip.
Feeling her whole body crawl with discomfort,Kelsey snapped, "If you don't let go, I'm not taking another step."
Rhett's face darkened instantly. He stared at her for a long, tense moment, his tone turning to ice. "Fine. Do whatever you want."
He released her so abruptly she almost stumbled, then turned and strode ahead without looking back.
Kelsey had no choice but to follow the sound of his footsteps in the dark.
