Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Testing The Waters

[You have received love from the Creation Mother Goddess Tiamat.]

[You have received affection from the Creation Mother Goddess Tiamat.]

[You have received longing from the Creation Mother Goddess Tiamat.....]

Amidst the simulator's frantic prompts, an epic-scale battle lasted a full day and night.

As if sensing something, Ereshkigal and Gilgamesh, who had been arguing at the seventh layer, stopped upon seeing the closed Rashomon Gate. They fell silent simultaneously, though their expressions seemed to suggest...

"Why did Ryuya-sama close the gate? Did something happen?"

Sometimes clever but at other times overly naive, Siduri, unaware of what had transpired, innocently asked.

"St-stop asking, Siduri. Let's go back."

Grabbing Siduri's hand to urge her to stop talking, Gilgamesh also lost the will to continue arguing with Ereshkigal and directly returned to Uruk.

[The 'battle' with the Creation Mother Goddess lasted a full day and night. Only when the goddess named Tiamat had completely exhausted her strength did she finally release you.]

["Tia, I've set up spells throughout the palace in Uruk. You can come back with me, but you cannot leave the palace grounds, as there's a risk of being detected by the gods."]

["Let's go back."]

["No, Ryu."]

[You expected the Creation Goddess to follow you without hesitation, but instead, she shook her head.]

["I love Ryu, but Eresh will be lonely."]

["Ryu will come to accompany me every day."]

[During the years you were away, Ereshkigal had been the one keeping Tiamat company. Although Tiamat still regarded you as her one and only in her heart, seeing that lonely, lovely, and cautious 'daughter' trying so hard to cheer her up, even Tiamat could not remain unmoved.]

[As the Mother Goddess of this land, Tiamat discovered for the first time how lovely a true 'child' could be. Regarding Ereshkigal as her dear child, the Mother Goddess expressed that if both of you left, Ereshkigal would be left alone again in the Netherworld.]

[After a moment of silence, Tiamat stated she wanted to stay with the lonely Ereshkigal, but on the condition that you must return every evening, otherwise, she would come to the surface to find you.]

[Looking at Tiamat, radiant with maternal love, you were pleased. After expressing your agreement, you returned to Uruk.]

[Thereafter, you handled state affairs in Uruk during the day, chatting with Cecilia and Siduri. At night, you returned to the Netherworld to live with Tiamat and Ereshkigal.]

[As time passed, you sensed Cecilia's and Ereshkigal's love for you and also developed feelings for these two girls who had accompanied you for so long. You properly confessed to them.]

[Facing your confession, Ereshkigal was astonished, completely unable to imagine she could receive such an honor of being loved. But her surprise was overshadowed by joy, as the sole flower of the Netherworld now had a love of her own.]

[As for Cecilia, she seemed to be hiding some secret, but she clearly loved you deeply and was very willing to be with you.]

[You brought Cecilia to the Netherworld. Contrary to your expectations, although it was their first meeting, Ereshkigal and Cecilia seemed to have a poor relationship, arguing immediately.]

[Tiamat, however, said little, merely nestling affectionately in your embrace, enjoying your love.]

[After a lengthy argument, Ereshkigal emerged victorious, apparently holding some leverage over Cecilia. As a result, Ereshkigal earned the second share of your affection for the night.]

[But Cecilia did not concede defeat. Even as the 'last place', she could demonstrate prowess surpassing Ereshkigal, and even Tiamat.]

[Thus, you spent your days handling affairs and your nights resting with your lovers, swiftly strengthening Uruk. Faced with such a powerful nation, the Myriad Races sent envoys, but more came as enemies. They feared humanity, dreaded humanity, and sought war with you.]

[Confronted with this situation, Gilgamesh excitedly donned his armor, declaring that after slacking off for so many years, it was time for the King of Heroes to reappear.]

[At this moment, looking at Gilgamesh, your response is: A. I'll leave it to you, Gil. B. No, Gil, I don't think it's time for war yet. C. Gil, how about I go fight those guys instead?]

["I choose A. I still have faith in Gilgamesh's combat prowess."]

[Believing the King of Heroes could absolutely crush all demons and monsters, as expected, the king named Gilgamesh swept through his enemies, obliterating most of the hostile tribes.]

[Moreover, perhaps because he hadn't had enough fighting, Gilgamesh even went overboard and eliminated other neutral tribes, citing their wavering stance and his distrust of them.]

[You did not oppose Gilgamesh's choice. Although you felt he had gone a bit too far, you sensed the gods were paying increasing attention to Uruk. Enemies known as gods were emerging.]

[One day, Gilgamesh, who had taken Cecilia and Siduri on the campaign, finally returned. Though his face showed fatigue, you could feel Gilgamesh's high spirits… his achievements were evidently abundant.]

[During the celebratory feast, once again noticing that Cecilia and Gilgamesh never appeared together, you felt somewhat strange.]

[Recalling that Cecilia and Gilgamesh had never been seen together over the years, their excessive similarity, Ereshkigal's behavior, and the secret Ishtar mentioned during your first meeting, you seemed to realize something.]

[That day, instead of immediately returning to the Netherworld to accompany Tiamat, you unusually went to Gilgamesh's bedchamber. Sure enough, you did not find the King of Heroes who should have been resting there.]

[Waiting seated for a certain figure, it wasn't until late at night that your familiar close friend slowly returned.]

["Lia, why are you back so late?"]

[Looking at the Gilgamesh before you with dark circles under his eyes, you tested the waters.]

[And Gilgamesh's reaction was just as you had expected...]
