Heukjin's POV
"Our home is very modest I apologize." The woman Sehyun called SeokAh said motioning for us to have a seat with a smile poorly practiced. It was beyond obvious she didn't want us here. Her facade was beyond readable.
I also didn't want to be here but…
I pulled Sehyun to sit beside me on the flat chair.
Since he was worried about that old woman, I had no choice than to accompany him. Sehyun that kid could be really stubborn especially when his mind was made up.
There was no predicting what he could do, it was fascinating and cute.
"So, did Sehyun find anything useful upon checking?" SeokAh asked Sehyun placing a cup of coffee infront of him.
"Mn. The entrie place was a mess, it seemed as if a robbery happened but the money wasn't touched. We found it suspicious so we came to inform you." I said crossing my arms.
Her movements faltered for a moment the coffee she was about dropping infront of me spilling.
I scoffed. Where was such a horrible actress recruited from and placed at the forefront? She was making this a lot easier than I expected —it was boring.
Her eyes met mine and for a split second I saw fear boldly stamped in her orbs. She averted her gaze seeing my focus remained on her.
"Sorry, I tend to be clumsy at times." She made to take the cup back but I reached for it first our fingertips brushing slightly. "I see," I mummured bringing the cup to my lips. My mouth twitched as I took a sip. I dropped the cup almost immediately feeling a burning sensation in my throat. I held Sehyun's hand moving towards the cup.
"There's death in there." I mouthed to him.
She must've been really disorganized to have made such unpalatable liquid and call it coffee.
We heard steps from above and my eyes shifted from her frame momentarily.
A man walked down the stairs dressed in nothing but shorts and a singlet his hair flying in different directions. He seemed unfocused more likely hungover.
He didn't even bother to adjust his appearance upon seeing us, he merely walked past and poured himself a cup of SeokAh's poison.
His reaction after taking a sip was expected. He spat the brown substance spraying the liquid on SeokAh's face. "Have you finally lost it?" He bellowed furiously.
SeokAh trembled violently with fear her movements frantic as she tried to appease the raging monster. "Is there something wrong with it? I'll make another…"
"Forget it, you good for nothing bitch." He spat.
My eyes narrowed sharply. "Language. There are kids here." I snapped my voice low yet everyone in the room could feel the domineering aura.
I don't care if you break her head into bits just don't make Sehyun uncomfortable.
The kid was so innocent he probably hasn't even swore once in his entire life—I didn't want other people tainting him. Even in the slightest.
The man slowy came off his eyes seeing the murderous look in my eyes. He turned to SeokAh. "Who are they?" He asked his voice a bit calmer.
"Well, I went to ask for their help since we couldn't find Mother, that's Sehyun and his teacher." Her voice could barely be heard. The coffee spat on her face dropping from her chin.
Was this part of the script or were we witnessing something else.
He sat down looking at Sehyun. "Kiddo, I heard you're close with my mother, we've been trying to find her have any idea where she might've gone?" He asked roughly.
I frowned. He reeked of alcohol—reeked so bad it was disgusting. "He has a name and no, we have no idea." I hissed.
His brown eyes darted irritatedly towards me. "He has a mouth no, why do you keep speaking up for him?"
I sneered. "Because talking to you would be a waste of his breath. I'd rather he saved it."
"You--" He banged his fists on the table his anger flaring once more. "Do you have any idea who you're talking to you impudent brat! I'm…." He beat his chest repeatedly
"A temporary worker at Slytherin Co. Do you know just how difficult it is to get in such a mighty empire? People like you could forever dream of it." he spat.
I took another sip from the coffee, it tasted less poisonous now, "I see, is that so?" I asked mockingly.
This proud fool dared to spew such words right in my presence. Temporary worker? How pathetic.
"Who the hell to you think you are to be this presumptuous! You have no regard for elders!" He yelled bits of saliva spraying from his mouth.
I leaned back. "Auntie's the reason we're here, not you so why should I pay you respect?"
"Besides…."
I glared at him. "I told you previously to watch the language."
SeokAh gripped his arm. "Chulsang, enough, you should stop now, don't upset the teacher any further." She said almost pleading.
Chulsang?
What a contrasting name.
He cleared his throat. "State your mission then, why did you have to come over?" He questioned.
"We were about to report Auntie as missing and also file a robbery report."
The both of them froze for a second. "R-robbery? How?" Chulsang asked his voice losing its arrogance.
He must've sensed the danger awaiting.
I continued calmly. "Auntie's store has been turned upside down, some documents have also gone missing. We have to catch the perpetrator and have them punished for theft and damage of property."
The room went silent immediately both of them dumb stuck to speak.
Now, it was becoming fun.
"W-what document?" SeokAh asked stuttering
"We weren't able to inform you earlier because we had to confirm but Auntie's property documents were placed in the store but upon our arrival, we couldn't find it. Right Sehyun?"
"Mn. We couldn't find it anymore, Auntie's important documents are always kept in the store but they've gone missing. We ought to catch the criminal before Auntie's found right?" Sehyun chipped.
I grinned inwardly. Having confirmed it from Auntie's must trusted aide, there must be confusion in the camp of the masterminds.
"R-right, we need to catch them." Chulsang's voice changed completely, he was both suspicious and scared.
Suspicious he was being played and scared he might be implicated for what he knew nothing about.
This was amusing.
"That's all we came to say, we'll turn in a report at the station tomorrow and submit the CCTV footages as well." I rose to my feet Sehyun standing too.
"Then, we'll take our leave."
I grasped Sehyun's hand and walked out of the house.
The moon shone proudly in the night sky casting a silver glow round the surroundings.
"Sensei, earlier, what you said was that to—" I turned to look at him helping him finish his words. "Rile them up."
"They'll become suspicious of one another, thinking the other took Auntie's property documents."
"What happens then?" His eyes carving up as he peered into my eyes. That cute action of his made me badly want to devour him.
But…..
"We wait. The most insecure and afraid will most likely approach us first and then we can find out what really happened." I said and ruffled his hair. "Sehyun, was obedient this time."
His cheeks turned a bright shade of pink. "Sensei!"
I chuckled my eyes growing tender. He was just like I'd imagined. Even now as he was being teased, he still gave off the same air of purity…..
Just how much do I have to mark you?
"I'll walk you home. Sensei has somewhere to be." His shoulders dropped upon hearing the second half of my statement. "Fine," he said his eyes dropping.
"Sehyun need to rest up, you've been stressing out alot." I said once we arrived at his place.
"Sensei also worked a lot. We both need rest,"he muttered in reply. "Being stubborn again?" I teased interlocking our hands. His small palm were a perfect fit in mine.
I unconsciously smiled at the realization.
"I'm not stubborn, Sensei keeps teasing!" He retorted with a pout.
I wanted to kiss him so bad.
I did.
Pulled him closer and sealed his lips with mine. His moist lips parted almost immediately as he sighed contentedly.
I explored his mouth like a haven I rediscovered. He tasted sweet—so sweet it was addictive. I just couldn't get enough
I pulled back allowing him to catch his breath. I could hear his pounding heart and it delighted me to know I was the reason he was so excited.
"Go on in." I said once he regained composure and didn't seem as dazed as he was after the kiss.
"Rest up early." He said gripping our still interlocked hands. I nodded. "Hurry inside."
He took back his hand and walked in waving me goodbye before he shut the gate.
My hands trailed my lips once he was out of sight, my eyes darkening. Sehyun was a delicacy I planned to take my time with.
There was no need to rush...
Not with him.
****
I opened the basement of my apartment flipping the light switch on as I walked in. The room dimly lit up, revealing the neatly arranged space. A rocking chair was situated by the far end of the room--takeouts stacked beside it
"I brought it," I said reaching into my coat and taking out the scarf that had been knitted halfway through.
The door on the right opened and she stepped out rushing to snatch the scarf from me.
"Thank you, thank you." She gave me a warm smile.
"How long do you plan on remaining 'missing' Auntie Park?" I asked casually leaning by the door.
"You're asking because Sehyun has been worried right?" She asked back.
"No has the right to make him worry." I stated calmly.
"Once I'm done with knitting this, I'll settle everything."
"Up to you." I turned to leave but stopped half turning to look at her.
"Also, what were you thinking naming him Chulsang? It's unfitting."
