Chapter 39 - Duragon Arrives:

The past six months on the Supreme Kai's planet had been an endless storm of battle. Every single day, I challenged Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan together — and every single day, I returned stronger. At first, they overwhelmed me with their teamwork, their years of experience, and their coordination as a unit. Three against one — even for me — was difficult to manage.

But Saiyan blood thrives on challenge, and mine burned hotter than ever. Every loss, every injury, every defeat carved strength into my body. Each time Kibito healed me, I came back sharper, faster, and more precise.

Within a month, the tide had turned. Now, I was the one they struggled to keep up with. My blows landed heavier; my counters became unpredictable. Goku would grin after each defeat, Vegeta would scowl, and Gohan — ever composed — would smile faintly, saying, "You really don't know when to stop, do you?"

He was right. I didn't.

But beneath the heat of our sparring sessions, an unease was growing. We all knew it.Our training wasn't just for power — it was for survival. Duragon was coming. The warlord who commanded galaxies. The one whose mere name made the Supreme Kai tense up.

And today, that unease finally broke.

We were training when Shin suddenly appeared before us, his expression pale."They've arrived," he said. His voice was calm, but the tremor in it was unmistakable. "Duragon and his army… they're on Earth."

The air fell silent. Even the ever-chatty Goku didn't speak. So, it was time.

Without another word, Goku placed his index and middle finger to his forehead, scanning for a familiar ki signature. I stepped beside him, resting my hand on his shoulder along with Vegeta and Gohan. I'd experienced his technique countless times by now, yet its sheer precision still amazed me — traveling light years in an instant, guided by ki alone.

He opened his eyes suddenly. "Found Piccolo. Hold on."

In the blink of an eye, the scenery changed. The serene blue sky of the Kai's realm was replaced by Earth's — hazy with smoke, trembling under the shadow of something colossal.

Piccolo stood ahead of us, arms folded, his face grim. "You're just in time," he said.

We followed his gaze — and my breath caught for a moment. Descending through the clouds was a ship so massive it looked like a floating city. Its metallic frame was black with red streaks of energy pulsing through it. Even from this distance, I could feel the pressure of thousands of battle-hardened warriors inside.

The ship landed with a thunderous impact that split the ground for miles. Dust and wind surged outward, forcing even Goku to brace himself.

"Where are the family members?" Goku asked immediately. "The kids, others?"

"They're at the Lookout," Piccolo replied, eyes still locked on the descending vessel. "Safe… for now."

I exhaled, relief washing over me for the briefest moment. "Good. At least 18 didn't rush in this time."She was pregnant, and though she'd never admit it, I knew she worried about me every time I went to fight. I couldn't have her risking herself now — not when our child's life was tied to hers.

Then, with a hiss that could be heard miles away, the ship's main hatch opened. The steel ramp extended, slamming into the ground with the weight of a falling mountain.

From within, four figures emerged.

At the center stood Duragon — an absolute giant, easily nine meters tall, his armor gleaming with obsidian metal lined in gold. His eyes yellow gold, and the aura around him felt… malevolent. The kind of power that had crushed civilizations before ours.

Behind him walked his three generals: Korvus, the broad-shouldered brute whose muscles seemed carved from steel; Veyra, slim and agile, her eyes cold and calculating; and Myra, eerily calm, her energy swirling with cruel precision.

And then came the army.

Thousands of warriors poured out of the ship, their dark armor gleaming under the sun. They filled the skies, blotting out the light itself. The air grew thick with ki, each one strong enough to rival the old Ginyu Force that Z Fighters faced on Namek.

Even the veterans — Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo — were taken aback by the scale.

"So many…" Gohan muttered.

Vegeta crossed his arms, scowling. "Let them come. The bigger the army, the better the challenge."

I said nothing. My focus was on Duragon, who stepped forward, each footstep echoing like thunder. He stopped barely ten steps from us, towering over everyone.

His gaze passed over each of us — Goku, Vegeta, Gohan — before settling on me. When he spoke, his voice was calm, regal, the tone of a ruler who expected obedience.

"You must be Razor," he said. Though his words were polite, the weight behind them was suffocating. "The Saiyan who killed my general Tirax."

I didn't move. "You could say that."

Duragon nodded once. "Then I will make this simple. You have strength — rare, raw, and unrefined, but impressive nonetheless. I offer you a position in my empire. Serve me, as my general, and I will grant you dominion over worlds. You will conquer in my name and share in my glory."

The silence that followed was deafening.

I could feel the stares of everyone around me, waiting for my answer. I met Duragon's gaze without flinching.

"Not interested," I said finally.

Duragon tilted his head slightly. "You would refuse my mercy?"

"Mercy?" I smirked. "I call it pity."

A flicker of irritation passed through his eyes, quickly replaced by cold amusement. "Then you have chosen death."

Goku stepped forward, his tone serious. "If you think we'll let you destroy this planet, you've picked the wrong place."

Duragon's gaze swept across them once more. "I had expected as much. So be it."

He raised his hand — and instantly, the ground beneath us trembled. His army roared, a sound that shook the skies. Energy signatures flared everywhere, too many to count.

Vegeta's aura burst to life beside me, golden lightning flashing. "Heh. Finally, something worth fighting."

Gohan followed, his calm demeanor fading as his own white aura enveloped him. Goku grinned, powering up as his Super Saiyan 2 aura exploded outward.

And me? I'd been waiting for this.

The anticipation in my veins turned electric. My ki surged like a tidal wave as I transformed, lightning snapping around me. My hair growing longer. The ground cracked under my feet.

Before Duragon could even declare the start of his so-called war, I was already gone from my spot.

I appeared in front of him in less than a heartbeat, my fist already swinging. The impact rang out like thunder, the air itself exploding from the force. Duragon barely flinched — instead, he smiled, his monstrous hand shooting forward to meet mine head-on.

Our punches collided, and the resulting shockwave shattered the landscape, sending debris flying miles away.

"That all you have?" Duragon asked, his tone amused.

"Not even close," I said, grinning as I launched another blow.

Duragon met it easily, catching my fist with his massive hand before shoving me back. He reached behind him, drawing his greatsword — a massive blade that radiated dark energy. He drove it into the ground between us, the impact forming a crater.

"If this is your choice," he said coldly, "then let the war begin."

At his command, chaos erupted. Thousands of his soldiers surged forward like a tidal wave, firing beams that painted the sky crimson. Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan launched themselves into the air, intercepting the three generals. Explosions rippled across the battlefield, lighting up the sky.

Meanwhile, Duragon and I charged again, our fists colliding midair, the sheer power splitting the clouds apart.

The war for Earth had begun — and for the first time in a long time, I felt alive.
