Gain immediately equipped his broadsword and swung it ahead of him, also holding a dented shield in his left hand. A figure like the wind moved swiftly past him and into the crowd of red-clothed guards before attacking ferociously.
A flurry of arrows followed behind Felix, protecting his blind spots. When one of the guards was preoccupied with Gain, a shadow erupted from Felix's shadow and directly struck at his blind spot. The guard sensed danger and immediately crouched and evaded a dagger aiming for his head.
There were four guards and three melee fighters in the vanguard at the moment. Arya tried to occupy one of the city guards with her arrows, but she couldn't continuously release arrows since she had a limited supply, so she tried to find blind spots.
Unfortunately for her, this attracted the attention of the last guard. He dashed past Felix and Gain, moving in a straight line. Arya immediately released a flurry of arrows at him before reaching for a dagger on her waist. The guard was faster than she thought. By the time she drew the dagger, the guard had already sliced through the arrows and arrived in front of her.
He swung silently, aiming for the space between her head and her shoulders, directly trying to remove her head from her body when suddenly a shadow appeared from under his feet. Unknowingly, the assassin had entered his shadow and now appeared.
On Theo's side, he was finally showing his prowess in commanding space, or at least the little he knew about it. The captain was too fast for him, so he could not directly attack him with space laws, but he could also indirectly attack him. He would put a teleport trap in front of his path and make him appear hundreds of meters away and go on to create a few more space traps, like falling rocks and such.
If it wasn't for his unrefined fighting style, he would have long since defeated the captain. Eventually, he tried teleporting his attacks within range of the captain so he couldn't dodge them, and when they failed to do much damage, as they were just raw, unrefined punches, he switched to teleporting them where they could in fact do horrible damage.
The captain had blood flowing from his mouth as he rushed forward. He couldn't believe he had been put in such a miserable state by this feeble young man, although by now he had understood that this young man wasn't so simple.
Theo threw out a punch towards the captain even though he was at least fifty meters away from him. The captain immediately stopped and fell to his knees, spitting out another mouthful of blood. As soon as Theo threw a punch, it would immediately appear inside his body, and with the young one's pure physical strength, it would ravage his internal organs terribly. This was the seventh punch he had taken, and he wasn't in a very optimistic condition.
"You see what happens when I don't hold back?" Theo looked at his sorry state from afar and smirked.
"You... You're a space element."
"Oh, but of course. But don't worry, the only people that know that are all here, and no one who isn't with me is leaving here alive." Hi is gaze flashed with a murderous glint as he moved towards the captain. He directly warped his wrists and feet deep into the earth, cutting off his escape. Now that the captain was unmoving, he was extremely vulnerable.
A saber flashed behind Theo, aiming to chop his head off. One of the four other guards had managed to free himself and saw an opportunity to take down the main culprit. Suddenly, the edge of his saber disappeared, and he felt a sharp force act on his neck. He may be fast, but he wasn't half as fast as the captain, and Theo could very well act within these parameters.
A head with a ferocious expression flew into the air and landed in front of the captain. Not to mention knowing how he died, he didn't even know he had died.
Theo looked towards the other five. They were currently struggling a bit, but the death of one of the guards had eased the pressure. They could last for a while. He directly put his hand on the unresisting captain's head and sensed into his body.
He sensed the position of the captain's heart in the void and found his magic heart. It was completely red hot, and whenever it beat, fire would spread all round his body.
A magic heart was a medium for humans to control their element, and everyone grew a magic heart after they reached a certain level of mastery of their element. Unlike the actual heart, it was like a second heart, but this one doesn't pump blood; it pumps the mana of your element all around your body, making it easier to use magic with a thought.
Theo directly absorbed the red-hot magic heart and sensed himself. Where he was supposed to have a magic heart, there was a huge black hole there. He directly placed the magic heart at the edge of the black hole where the gravity couldn't act on it. After managing to stabilize the gravity of the black hole so it wouldn't eat the heart, it immediately began to pump fire mana into Theo's body.
The captain's body directly shriveled, looking like it had little to no flesh on it. When one's body is constantly receiving high-end energy such as mana and the supply immediately stops, it would be like constantly pumping oxygen into the human body and then suddenly stopping, but worse. Oxygen was normal air, but mana was a higher form of energy. Losing one's breath was bad; losing the mana supply was even worse.
From now on, Theo would be a dual-element user. He immediately turned to the few city guards fighting the five hunters. He opened his palm, and a miniature flame appeared. It seems he would need some time to get accustomed to another new wave of power, but what better way to accustom himself than using said power?
