Chapter 202 - Chapter 173 – Copying the Ten Shadows Technique

Seeing Takumi standing in front of them, Kana, Natsumi, and Saori felt like they'd finally found something solid to cling to.

They hurried to explain, "We're from Year 3, Class A of the middle school division. Takumi-senpai… we've heard about you."

The only male student in the entire school—there was no way not to know his name.

"Oh? So you're three juniors. In that case, you can relax and stand up now—because I'm here."

As Takumi's words fell, a whole swarm of curses came lunging at him with hideous faces twisted in malice.

Before Kana and the others could even scream, Takumi casually flicked his fingers. "[Rend]."

Pitch-black scissor blades flew out from the shadows, shredding the curses like a storm tearing through dry leaves.

The shattered curses swirled together with the motion of Takumi's fingertip, then transformed into a torrent that was swallowed cleanly by his body.

[Ding! Randomly plundered…]

Takumi glanced at the pop-up panel that appeared, then immediately dismissed it.

The word traits on these trash-tier curses, even if they had any, were utterly useless. Compared to that, the points on his card ticking up to 20 actually felt a little more honest.

"At the very least, that's enough to make one decent wish. With 20 points, I should be able to wish for the death of some low-class demons… which somehow just makes it feel even more useless."

Takumi curled his lip, inwardly speechless.

After stepping into a divine life-form, he'd gradually been able to analyze what this points thing really was.

It was most likely a system (godhood) left behind by the Biblical God up in Heaven—an inherited god-system that rewarded him based on certain rules, and the upper limit of what could be granted with points was also presumably the upper limit of that god-system's capabilities.

In other words, to him, points weren't actually all that valuable, but if he could get close enough to Heaven's god-system and use points as the key, he might be able to use his own godhood to devour that leftover god-system.

"Whew… pulling that off is still way too extreme. Not going to be easy."

Recalling his mind from wandering down that path, Takumi reached out and helped the three girls up from where they'd crumpled to the floor.

In the hazy, budding time of their adolescence, the three girls looked at the handsome, overwhelmingly capable upperclassman before them and each felt their hearts thumping like crazy.

"Next time, don't go poking around this kind of thing late at night. It's really dangerous." Takumi reached out and ruffled Kana's hair.

Kana immediately ducked her pretty face, murmuring softly, "O-okay, senpai."

"We get it too." Natsumi and Saori chimed in right away.

Then the three of them were drawn by the sounds of battle outside and nervously leaned out over the corridor to look.

Out on the field, a Grade 2 curse that looked like a giant grasshopper but with a human mouth and twisted human arms and legs was beating Fushiguro Megumi and Itadori Yuji into the dirt.

After just a few exchanges, Fushiguro's nose and mouth were a bloody mess, and he could barely even stand.

"Damn it! I let my attention wander and got blindsided. I can't even muster any strength right now."

Staggering backward, Fushiguro glared at the approaching grasshopper curse in frustration. Under normal circumstances, he had no reason to be getting pushed this hard.

Just as the Grade 2 curse was about to kill him, Itadori charged forward.

Under Takumi's gaze, Itadori managed to snatch Sukuna's finger back and actually ate it like it was some kind of spicy chicken claw.

A torrent of cursed energy erupted from his body as black markings spread across his skin like a tattooed pattern.

In that instant, the consciousness of Sukuna—the King of Curses—was resurrected by taking that perfect vessel for himself.

If it were any other main character, Takumi would've taken them out already. No way would he just stand here and watch, but Itadori really was… different. This protagonist was kind of trash.

Takumi's only real impression of him was that he was a grounded sports kid who only knew how to throw punches.

He activated his Jade Eye to take a proper look.

[Name: Itadori Yuji (Ryomen Sukuna)]

[Rank: Special Grade Curse]

[Traits: Cursed Object Possession (Blue), Master of Hand-to-Hand Combat (Blue), Cursed Body (Blue), Protagonist Halo (Green)…]

[Cursed Object Possession (Blue): Possessed by a cursed object, granting immense cursed energy.]

[Master of Hand-to-Hand Combat (Blue): You have excellent talent in close-quarters combat and tremendous potential.]

[Cursed Body (Blue): Born with a body imbued with curses; immune to poison, with extraordinary physical attributes.]

"So weak. Not even one purple trait." Seeing that panel, Takumi's brows knitted together.

Killing this guy would be pointless! What, was he supposed to be doing this for that little bit of hand-to-hand combat talent?

"I don't want to end up as some grounded sports freak. I really do have to figure out how to drag Sukuna out of there instead. His traits are way more tempting."

Letting out a long sigh, Takumi vaulted lightly over the fence with a single leap.

"Eh!!!" Kana and the others jumped in shock.

A second later, they saw Takumi land steadily beside Fushiguro on the field. Only then did they finally breathe a sigh of relief, their eyes full of pure admiration.

"Wow~ Senpai is amazing!"

"Mhm, so cool!!"

"And he just saved us too. Takumi-senpai is so nice."

The three girls immediately started whispering to each other, and the topic was, of course, Takumi.

Under their watching eyes, Takumi turned his gaze to Fushiguro.

Seeing this sudden stranger appear, Fushiguro was startled. He hadn't even figured out what to do about Itadori being possessed by a cursed object—and now somebody else had popped up?

Forcing himself up to his feet, Fushiguro stared at Takumi with a serious expression. "Who are you!?"

Takumi didn't bother answering. His impression of Fushiguro wasn't exactly great.

All he really remembered was that later on, Fushiguro basically gave up and turned himself into Sukuna's nuclear warhead, but to be fair, Fushiguro did have his strengths.

First was the [Ten Shadows Technique] he used—an innate technique that even Sukuna coveted, and the key behind turning Gojo into 2 Gojos.

Second was his sister. She didn't get much screen time, but Takumi still remembered her.

A girl who never got saved in the end… that really was a shame.

With those thoughts passing through his mind, Takumi calmly reached out a hand toward Fushiguro.

"[Imitation Heal]."

Recovery magic washed over Fushiguro, healing all of his injuries in an instant. At the same time, everything he knew of the Ten Shadows Technique was copied over and learned by Takumi.

"Tsk… the early part of this technique is so damn useless. It's just summoning fodder. Only Mahoraga is worth anything—and not that much."

Mahoraga was infamous for good reason, both its raw stats and its effect. Its base parameters were insane, and on top of that it could adapt to practically any technique.

The problem was, Mahoraga might be top-tier among jujutsu sorcerers but for him, it just didn't cut it.

That ability to adapt to any technique sounded powerful on paper, but in practice it came with a whole list of issues.

"If it's an enemy I can't beat, Mahoraga will get blown up the moment it shows up. If it's an enemy I can beat… what do I even need this useless thing for?"

After grumbling in his heart, Takumi silently downgraded the Ten Shadows Technique to a pure smurfing to bully newbies skill.

Unless he reworked the technique himself later, it really wouldn't be of much use.
