Stella POV
"In three days," I answered, my heart thumping hard in my chest. I was supposed to feel confident about attending this summit.
But then Adrian's presence made me skeptical. I drew in a deep breath and waited for his response, but it never came.
Time ticked by, my hand clasped tightly around the tea cup before me while I sweated hard.
Several emotions coursed through his face. I was losing it. My nerves were on edge.
At some point, I couldn't bear it again. I decided to speak out for myself. I wanted to tell him the opportunities open for me in attending that summit.
Leaving the Nortons' family, I didn't want to be caged or restrained again. I hoped to make myself better and worthy to stand by Adrian.
Over the weeks, I had tried to dig into who he is… but his identity had always been mysterious.
Considering a few facts, I knew he wasn't just mysterious but might have definitely worked his way to the top.
