Third POV
Bang!
The gun came up fast.
The sound exploded between them.
Stella's breath caught. Instinct overrode her thought as her hand shot up, crossing her face as though she could shield herself, or perhaps snatch the bullet from the air before it reached her.
But the next moment, unbearable pain ripped through her side as the bullet tore in.
Her body jerked violently, slammed back against the seat with a force that rattled the door.
A strangled gasp tore from her lips, her spine arched as fire spread through her flesh.
Time froze.
"Luna!" the beta shouted as he dashed forward, shoving Phina aside with brutal force.
She couldn't stand still and staggered, lost her balance, and fell hard onto her buttocks with a startled cry.
A glance at Stella and the sight of the blood staining her clothes. Johnson's gaze turned colder while it blazed with fury.
He walked over to her and slapped her hard. The sound of the slap resounded so hard that her ears rang for minutes.
