Emma looked at Ryder, her eyes searching for any sign of insincerity. But all she saw was a deep longing and regret. She wasn't sure if she could trust him, but a part of her wanted to believe that he was genuinely sorry.
"What do you propose?" she asked, her voice a little softer.
Ryder took a step closer, his eyes locked on hers. "I want to be with you, Emma. I want to be a part of this baby's life. I know I don't deserve it, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make things right between us."
Emma raised an eyebrow. "Whatever it takes?" she repeated. "That's a pretty broad statement. What exactly do you plan to do to make things right?"
Ryder thought for a moment before responding. "I'll do whatever you need me to do, Emma. If you want me to be more involved in the pregnancy, I'll be there for every appointment. If you want me to support you financially, I'll take care of everything. If you want me to be a part of the baby's life, I'll be there for every milestone."
Emma studied him, trying to gauge his sincerity. She could see the determination in his eyes, but she was still unsure if she could trust him.
"I need time to think," she said finally. "This isn't just about me; it's about our baby. I need to consider what's best for both of us."
Ryder nodded, understanding. "I understand. Take all the time you need, Emma. I'll be here, waiting for your decision."
As Emma looked at Ryder, she felt a mix of emotions. Part of her wanted to forgive him and give him another chance, but another part of her was scared of getting hurt again. She knew she had to take her time and think carefully about what she wanted to do.
Meanwhile, Sophia was on her way to Ryder's office, unaware of the bombshell that was about to hit her. She was determined to get answers from Ryder about why he had been avoiding her.
As she arrived at the office, she saw Ryder walking out the door. "Ryder, wait!" she called out, but he didn't hear her.
