Falon's study was quiet. Too quiet. I stood before his massive desk, Leo leaning against the doorframe behind me. I'd just finished telling him everything. About Selene showing Anya the tape. About Anya knowing I killed her husband.
The silence stretched. Falon slowly rose from his chair, his hands flat on the desk.
"How long have you known?"
"Since the Gala."
His calm shattered. "Days?" he exploded. "You've known for days while our company burns? While the Volkan Group picks us apart piece by piece?"
"I was going to tell you—"
"When?" he roared. "When would have been convenient, Riley? Since you arrived, it's been one crisis after another that I've had to clean up! I'm trying to hold an empire together!"
