Chapter 7 - The guardian of secrets

Zita's eyes adjusted to the dim light, and she saw that the woman was standing in front of a large, stone fireplace. The flames danced and crackled, casting flickering shadows on the walls. The woman's eyes seemed to hold a deep wisdom, a knowledge that was both captivating and intimidating.

"Who are you?" Zita asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The woman's smile was slow, her eyes glinting with amusement. "I am Amina," she said. "A guardian of secrets, a keeper of the truth."

Zita's mind reeled as she realized that Amina was somehow connected to the stranger, to the web of deceit that surrounded her brother's disappearance.

"What do you know?" Zita asked, her voice urgent.

Amina's expression was grim. "I know that your brother was murdered, Zita. I know that he was killed by those who wanted to silence him, to keep the truth hidden."

Zita felt a surge of anger, of grief. She had known that her brother was dead, but to hear it confirmed was like a blow to the chest.

"Tell me more," Zita said, her voice shaking with emotion.

Amina's eyes seemed to hold a deep sadness, a knowledge that was almost too much to bear. "Your brother discovered a plot, Zita. A plot to overthrow the king, to take control of the palace."

Zita's mind reeled as she realized that the web of deceit was far more complex, far more sinister, than she had ever imagined.

"Who is behind it?" Zita asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Amina's expression was grim. "That, I do not know," she said. "But I can tell you this: the person responsible is someone close to the king, someone who has the power to manipulate and control."

Zita's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to tread carefully if she wanted to uncover the truth.

As she stood there, frozen in thought, Amina spoke again. "But there is hope, Zita. There is a way to bring the person responsible to justice."

Zita's eyes locked onto Amina's, her heart pounding in her chest. What did Amina mean? What hope did she speak of?

"What is it?" Zita asked, her voice urgent.

Amina's smile was slow, her eyes glinting with determination. "I have evidence, Zita. Evidence that will bring down the person responsible, that will bring the truth to light."

Zita felt a surge of excitement, of anticipation. She knew that she was getting close, that she was on the brink of uncovering the truth.

As she stood there, Amina reached out, her hand closing around Zita's wrist. "But you must be careful, Zita," she said, her voice low and urgent. "The person responsible will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden. You are in danger, Zita. Great danger."

Zita felt a shiver run down her spine, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she was taking a risk, that she was stepping into the unknown. But she also knew that she had to keep moving forward, no matter what it cost her.
