Cherreads

Chapter 1 - 1

"You are coming with regardless of anything! You haven't been out in months!" Blair screamed across the apartment from the kitchen where she made herself something to eat, that looks more like something they would feed Lutty, the dog. Zoe sighed as she rolled of her bed, making her way through to the kitchen, seeing her friend at the stove and Lutty right next to her, he even thinks it's for him. Zoe made her way slowly towards the stove, the smell was enough to send her into a coma, or kill birds that would make them drop out of the sky.

"I have been out!" She said to her friend, Blair stopped mixing the brown goo to glare at her friend, her dumb friend.

"Going to work does not count-

"I'm sorry but what are you making? Is it for Lutty? He looks excited enough." Zoe likes to divert any conversation that could be about her to anything else, this case being the goo Blair is cooking.

"No, it's not for Lutty, it's vegan caramel. I am teaching myself to make it, why does it look funny?" and Blair as always, falls for the trick of Zoe changing the subject.

"It smells weird and looks like goo, are you sure that is edible?" she looked concerned, Blair looked down at her caramel, she didn't want this on her pancakes. She saw the thing Zoe sees.

"Looks like snot or shit."

"THIS is why I cook." Zoe pointed out; Blair made her way to dump the snot caramel down the sink. Zoe took this as her que to leave but then she heard the famous, 'we are NOT done' come from Blair, making her turn back around.

"We are going out tonight, that is that. It's only Gabe. You know him." The guy who knows her father and she is always invited to his parties since the moved her, she only goes to either do one of three things:

1, Sleep with someone then show up the next morning doing the walk of shame, and to be reminded she left Zoe alone.

2, Find out new dirt for her dad from Gabe.

3, Help Zoe meet someone.

Option 3 happens all the time and never has been successful. Blair thinks tonight she might meet someone she has been waiting to meet, and there is a specific person in mind for tonight. Gabe assured her the person would be there tonight. Zoe looked like she was in pain when she heard his name, there was nothing wrong with Gabe, she just knew he likes to party till 4 in the morning and won't take, "I really just want to go home for an answer." It's a pity he's gay, he and Blair are perfect for one another. Likes to party, likes to fuck, think they are the best thing to happen to earth since sex. They are the same person. Zoe looked at her friend, she thought to be nice and just go but she isn't in the mood for a party or to deal with everyone saying how she is so pretty and how they want to fuck her right there, and how she will have to go home by herself.

"Fine, but I have nothing to wear." Zoe said, Blair actually screamed for joy when she heard Zoe say yes, but didn't hear her say her last part, Guess Jeans and a shirt will have to do. She won't tell Blair that is how she is going tonight, or she will end up like the goo, down the sink.

On the other side of New York, at the Bagel Place, there sits Addison Marlowe, just trying to eat her lunch while Gabe Wells is begging her to come out tonight, she said yes but has changed her mind.

"You always come out! What is so different about tonight?" He asked, Addy was in the middle of biting her bagel, this was the first Saturday in a while where they have just gone out to eat and chat about anything other than his parties, he only talks about that, his sex life, or work, Addy doesn't have anything mildly interesting for them to discuss, that is why she lets him do all the talking.

"I said maybe, not yes. I don't have energy to go out. Or come out." She took a sip of her coffee, and felt the heat coming off of Gabes stare, she looked up.

"Please. You could meet someone?"

"Or just have to deal with you and your drunk ass. NO."

"Please! I won't get that drunk! I can swear it." Gabe doesn't keep is promises that's why is says he'll swear it. Which he also doesn't do. The only swearing he keeps to is his constant bad language. Addy isn't the going out type unless she can get something or someone out of the night, Gabes parties normally consist of the same people and she doesn't feel like interacting with the same people again.

"You can leave early!" That was something he rarely said, he has a rule that you can't leave before 3am, that's how you know his parties get to much, and too much is there are people throwing up everywhere, having sex on his furniture and he as well, doing lines in the kitchen, you name it, it happens. Addison can come for an hour or less then go home, doesn't sound like a bad idea.

"Can I choose when I want to come and leave?" She asked, holding her bagel before taking another bite.

"Sure! You better stay longer than an hour, I know you."

"Be glad I said that I will show up. Finish your food." Addy said while she finished off the rest of her bagel and as Gabe basically just started. She knew she was going to regret saying yes.

Later that evening, the evening being 9pm, Zoe and Blair arrived late to the party. Only because Zoe refused to change and Blair was fighting with her to change. They made their way to the elevator that goes up to the penthouse, the place was in the upper east side, most of the people who are eat this party live this side.

"I can't believe you are wearing jeans and a shirt to a party!" Blair was still going at Zoe for under dressing.

"I told you I have nothing to wear! And I don't wear what you wear."

"I don't care, you look like you just woke up. I don't know how you expect anyone to find you mildly attractive." They were nearly at the top of the building, Zoe sometimes had to hold her tongue when it came to Blair. Their friendship, to Zoe at least, felt one sided at times, Blair only wants to do what Blair wants and Zoe must follow. Even though Blair has been there through everything, and she is currently living rent free in an amazing New York apartment, she can't say much. Holding back helps. The elevator door dings and leads them into the living room, which is pack with most likely thousands of people. Blair grabbed Zoe and lead them through the wave of people and through the loud music, the music was never great at Gabes parties. Speaking of Gabe, that is where Blair was dragging them to.

"BLAIR!" Gabe screamed as he gave the girl a hug, they hugged so long it might as well have been a quick fuck. Gabe then turned to hug Zoe, she returned the hug but made him let go quickly, he didn't seem to notice, he turned to Blair and started chatting away, leaving Zoe to her own thoughts. She sighed loudly, looking around for anyone who she might know, or someone who might look interested in her, she didn't find either. A few minutes went by before she was being dragged by Blair again but this time Gabe was leading.

The ended up going to the higher level of the house, this being in another living room where they were brought to a dead halt, Gabe turned around. "She just got here; don't know how long she will stay but I'll get her." Zoe's eyes went wide, that is why she was invited, to another date.

Outside Addy was just trying to enjoy the silence, she hadn't seen Gabe since he got a message and ran off, probably some dealer he needs to pay. Taking a pull of her cigarette, she planned to leave once she was done with this one, but then a bubbly Gabe jumped next to her. He was definitely up to something or high.

"May I help you?" She asked laughing, Gabe went to speak but he looked down at the cigarette.

"Really?"

"You literally have coke all over your kitchen counter and you're gonna get mad at a cig?"

"Never mind, I have someone I want you to meet. COME!" The cigarette went flying out of her hand as she was dragged into the noise to meet someone she probably has already meet.

"IS THIS WHY YOU WANTED ME TO COME OUT?! TO KEEP AT THE GETTING ME A DATE?!" That was a first thing Addy heard as she walked in, she knew that voice, but it was a lot different now than from the first time she heard it.

"Gabe, who are you bringing me to?" Addy was getting ready to ran back outside and join her cigarette in its fall. He didn't answer her.

"Blair who am I meeting?" She didn't answer

The two women kept arguing with their friends as they were about to be reintroduced to one another, this was more Blairs doing than Gabes. As Gabe brought Addy up to the two young women, Addison and Zoe Locked eyes and both stared, they knew each other. Before they could be introduced by their friends, they spoke at the same time.

"I know you?" They said, and they stared and stared until they could remember why they knew each other.

"I know why I know you, or well, your friend more than you. YOU dated my sister, back when you were in high school and she was graduating. Blair? The 13-year-old and you are Zoe? Her bestie." Addy said as she gave both of the women a memory jog.

"Yes, I remember you, you also called me dumb and Blair a slut. Why are you the person I am supposed to be meeting?" Zoe ignored the look on Addy's face to ask Blair.

"I was told that you guys had a lot in common and you are both each other's types, so I made it happen! I honestly didn't know it was YOU." Blair explained herself, Addison gave a sour, turned-up look.

"How many other Addison Marlowe's do you know? Let's be real here, you thought that setting me up with your tiny friend here would get you back into my sisters' life!" Addy explained, she was getting upset, she was also trying not to stutter.

"I AM NOT TINY!" Zoe screamed, that was the only thing she heard, which made Addison roll her eyes, a classic move.

"Chick, Blair is using you to get to Allison, she doesn't care right now about getting you laid. I am leaving this conversation before I say something bad, oh wait," Addy turned to Blair, "She most definitely does not remember you, let. It. Go!" And with that, Addy went back outside. Gabe, Zoe and Blair stood there in silence, none looking at the other. Zoe wanted to say something, as she just realized what Addison said, but Blair had disappeared before she could say anything, this made her groan.

"I am sorry about her, she wasn't always like that." Gabe was defending his friends behaviour.

"I don't believe you but thanks, can you watch Blair please? I want to go home." She looked like a puppy who just got kicked in the face, Gabe gave a heartfelt smile and nodded, he gently held her arm then wondered off to find Blair, she has a habit of drinking all the vodka he owns, and it is never the cheap one he puts out.

Zoe sighed, looking around at the people, wondering what she is going to do and how she is going to get home, Blair paid for the taxi, she doesn't really have money, she doesn't want to talk home, they may live in Manhattan but New York at night is never a good idea. Forgetting that Addison had walked outside, Zoe pulled her thin jacket around her waist, and pushed the door open that lead to the roof. The view was stunning, she walked closer to the edge and looked out at the glowing lights of New Yorks night life, as well as she could hear the life being lived.

"Wow." She whispered to herself, Zoe never really got the chance to see New York, this was her first time getting to really have a good look.

"Where is your other half? Did she jump?" Zoe whipped her head around to see who was talking but it was only Addison, she rolled her eyes.

"She disappeared after you insulted her-

"I didn't insult anyone, maybe you but I just told her the truth, sadly that hurts, if she can't handle it, then she clearly hasn't really been thought much." Addison is rude, but only because she is angry that she was forced to come out to meet someone when she said more than once she is fine alone. She has a lifestyle she is very comfortable in.

"Still, you hurt her." Zoe walked closer to Addy, the wind hitting her in the face, making her older. Addy looked the young women up and down, she was tiny so to say, in hight and size, 'Does she want to freeze to death?' the older woman thought as she looked at the thinnest coat, or jacket she has ever seen on someone who lives in a city that snows.

"I really don't care. Anyone who has anything to do with my sister can go to hell." Addy stopped leaning against the wall and stood up right, now she saw that Zoe was a bit shorter than her, Zoe looked up at her a bit.

"In my defence, I didn't know it was you we were meeting, I didn't know she was bringing me here to meet with someone, I thought she gave up one setting me up with people." Zoe explained herself to the taller women, Addy still didn't really care, she also couldn't stop wondering why she was wearing such a small coat.

"Side note, aren't you cold? What is that? Cloth?" She asked

"It's a jacket, I didn't plan on wearing anything," Zoe replied

"That explains the t-shirt and jeans look." Addy smiled at her answer

"I didn't plan to go out, like I said, I didn't know." Zoe explained herself again.

"I am sorry, you being cold is going to make me mad, here." Addy took off her oversized coat and dumped it onto Zoes' shoulders, it wasn't huge, just puffy, Zoe looked like she was going to fall off the ledge at how she went off balance from getting the coat dumped on her.

"Why am I getting this?" She asked, still holding the coat

"I don't like seeing people cold." Addy said as she made her way to leave the party and go home, she heard the woman behind her struggle to put the coat on, she waited to see if she put it on really or if that noise was her throwing it off the ledge. Then a thought popped up, a thought she didn't want to act on. Addy knew than to act on this but she also didn't want to have anyone, especially Blair or Gabe get at her, she turned around and put on a fake smile.

"Do you know how you're getting home? I have a weird feeling that Blair isn't leaving soon." As she said that, a loud cheer can be heard from downstairs, this was everyone cheering on Blair as she snorted a line longer than a Subway sandwich. Everyone is thinking the same, is this chick on something else to make her able to do that?

"I don't. Blair paid for the taxi here, and I don't have money at the moment, I was just thinking of waiting out here all night till she came to find me or just pass out somewhere where no one will find me." Zoe looked at Addison as if this was the best plan she ever made, the older woman pulled another sour face.

"You really think THAT is a good idea?"

"It's the only option."

Addy felt a little bad, she could always pay for her to get home or drop her off, she knows what it is like to be stranded somewhere with no ride home, even if she never wanted to be home. She looked around and sighed, walking up to Zoe, which made Zoe think she was going to do something.

"Unless you are dead set on this…plan…. I could offer to drop you home, I drove myself here and I haven't had anything to drink, or I could pay for a taxi, I haven't a clue where you live and knowing Blair, it is most likely Queens." Zoe was the one to pull the sour face.

"For you information, we live in the Upper West Side, and why are you offering? Suddenly have a heart?" She is allowed to be rude.

"I know how much it sucks having to wait on someone to get you home, and I don't like you at all but I'd rather go to bed without thinking, did she fall off the ledge at the penthouse after falling asleep? Take it or leave it I am not forcing." Addy said as she put her hands into her pockets, waiting to see her answer. Zoe did want to leave but she didn't want to go home because she didn't want to face Blair in the morning, even though she really will need to. She took out her phone, texted Blair that she would be leaving and will see her in the morning, then looked up and said, "Lead the way, James." Zoe said in a really bad British accent, Addison looked confused.

"I'm Addy?"

"Don't you know that saying? 'Where to sir? Home James, home.' Have you really never heard that?" Zoe looked at her like she was the idiot. She shook her head.

"Let's just go." Addy quickly made her way to leave, she heard Zoe run after her from behind. The shorter woman tried to be quick in following her, tall people tend to walk a lot faster and forget that shorter people can't keep up. Zoe managed to keep right behind her, they walked to the elevator and as they got to it, there were more people arriving to the party as they we leaving, no surprise there. The ride down to Addisons car, which was underground, was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, even with the soft buzz of the elevator.

Zoe side eyed Addy, she saw her side profile more than her face, her jawline is sharp but in a soft way, her blonde mixed with brown hair suited her, Zoe can't really remember the last time she saw her, but she can definitely say that she looks a lot more mature, and older. Addy got the feeling she was being watched, she turned her head in Zoe's direction, and she was right, the younger woman was side eyeing her, she raised an eyebrow and this caused her to stop.

Addy had no shame in staring, she never really looked at Zoe back when she met her, she was only 13 then and Addy was 23, they have changed, grown, matured. Addy noticed she lost most of the baby fat in her face, her side profile was definitely something to look at, she has gotten prettier, and her body was slim, you could see that even through the huge coat of Addys and her shortish black hair looked better than the long ass hair she had then. Ally licked her lips, Zoe is a looker. And now Zoe looked at her, in the eyes, and they stared. Addy had very light brown eyes while Zoe had more dark chocolate eyes, they haven't really meet anyone with the opposite colour of brown.

"Staring is rude." Zoe said, Addy smirked

"I have no shame." She replied, which caused the younger woman to roll her eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes, that's considered rude." Zoe looked at her with the 'Are you serious?' look, Addy chuckled. Before she could make another remark, the doors opened and they were at the parking area, Addy walked to her car, the car that make everyone wonder how she can afford it, Zoe followed.

"So, what car do you drive? A beat-up Volvo?" It was Addison who rolled her eyes this time. Getting her keys out to unlock, Zoe saw the Porsche logo, her eyes went wide. 'Oh, she has money money.' Zoe thought. They walked up to a dark blue metallic colour car, Zoe wasn't even going to even pretend she knew cars, she only knew that it was an expensive one. The doors unlocked, Addy went to open her door up but Zoe stood still at the back, she read the name, 911 Porsche Turbo S, she pulled an amused face. Addy looked confused.

"Are you going to study the car or get in." She said

"How can you afford this?"

"Saved up. Get in." Addy got into the driver's seat and started the car up, not waiting for the younger woman to get in, but she did after the engine revied up. Closing both doors, buckling up, she reversed out and left Gabes place and on her way to drop the girl off.
