Chapter 212 - Chapter 212: The Buli City!

Chapter 212: The Buli City!

Goddamn cranial operation!

The other werewolves heard this and were extremely speechless, but they didn't dare to say anything. Initially, they thought Jiang Lin might be a weak human, but to their surprise, he was a Great Dou Master. They hadn't even detected his aura earlier, including Kui Qing.

However, it was better this way. This human turned out to be an extremely rare bow-wielding Great Dou Master, so his keen senses were only to be expected.

"Right ahead, keep moving forward, don't stop. It seems like there's a big guy following us." Jiang Lin's eyes scanned the surroundings through his goggles, moving effortlessly through the sandstorm. After pointing out the direction, he turned to Kui Qing and said, "Kui, can you show me a few magic cores?"

Kui Qing, curious about what Jiang Lin needed the magic cores for, didn't ask any further. He threw a few of the highest-grade cores he had in his possession toward Jiang Lin.

Jiang Lin caught them and examined a second-stage Desert Burrowing Worm's magic core. His expression flickered with surprise. Compared to the usual purity of magic cores, these desert worms' cores seemed unusually murky, as though they were just filling in the numbers. Earlier, when dealing with the first-stage sandworms, Jiang Lin hadn't paid attention to their magic cores, but now, seeing the second-stage worm, he realized that these sandworms were something more than just magical beasts—they were a kind of magical bug?

The first-stage sandworms were about one meter long, with pigeon egg-sized magic cores, while the second-stage worms were two to three meters long, with egg-sized cores. Though these cores might be seen as substandard among second-stage magical beasts, they were still genuine second-stage magic cores.

"These sandworms breed astonishingly fast. But what really surprises me is their organs. At first, I didn't notice, but later I realized that these sandworms' cores seem to have biological features. When we head back, I'll grab a few and study them," Jiang Lin noted, memorizing the species of sandworms in his mind. He then focused on leading the werewolves through the sandstorm, using his bow and Dou Qi to shoot down any sandworms that might block their path.

If one were to look from above, they would see that, within the sandstorm, some third-stage desert beasts were hidden. Under Jiang Lin's guidance, avoiding these third-stage beasts, both sides moved silently through the storm.

The ghost from the Monster Beast Mountain had finally drifted into the desert.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Almost everyone could hear the rhythmic sound coming from the yellow sand behind them. It was the sound of desert magical beasts moving swiftly!

Boom!

A terrifying giant scorpion appeared ahead of the group, but Kui Qing, the powerful werewolf leading the charge, immediately activated his Dou Qi. His entire body was illuminated with mysterious patterns, and with a swift movement, he charged toward the giant scorpion, sending it flying with a powerful punch. Without stopping, he quickly led his team forward, finally emerging from the sandstorm, where the sky instantly became clear!

However, Jiang Lin glanced back at the sandstorm, where he noticed a black figure, the size of a small hill, standing quietly on the edge. It slowly faded away, disappearing into the yellow sand.

"A Desert Yellow-armored King Scorpion. How could this kind of creature be driven into such a remote area?" Kui Qing, still leading Jiang Lin and the others, looked back nervously at the shadow slowly dissipating in the sand, his face filled with disbelief.

When Jiang Lin had told him that a big creature was behind them, he hadn't believed it. But after Jiang Lin led them in a straight line, charging through a third-stage Desert Giant Scorpion and emerging from the sandstorm, Kui Qing couldn't help but feel a little fearful.

If they had encountered the Desert Yellow-armored King Scorpion, only a few of them would have survived. Fortunately, Jiang Lin's navigation was exceptional, guiding them along the shortest path to escape before the big creature caught up.

"A King Scorpion? No wonder it was so slow. This sandstorm was probably caused by it. Without the sandstorm, its size and speed would make it difficult to survive," Kui Qing explained. Jiang Lin understood. The big creature had been following them for a while, but its speed was worrying. It was only able to cover up its movements by using the sandstorm to slowly close the distance. However, such a clumsy pursuit tactic had no effect on Jiang Lin.

"Let's rest for a bit," Kui Qing suggested. The werewolves had been running in the sandstorm for over an hour, but their stamina was incredible. Even the Dou Shi werewolves didn't seem tired.

"Master, you don't understand. The Desert Yellow-armored King Scorpion has incredible defensive strength. When we get back, we might need to contact other nearby tribes to work together and drive the King Scorpion to the southern desert. If we let it settle here, the tribes in the Black Mountain Hills will be in trouble." After Jiang Lin's guidance through the sandstorm, Kui Qing's attitude toward Jiang Lin had become much more respectful, and his words were more sincere.

"…You all certainly have your own struggles." Jiang Lin didn't say much in response. The Serpent Tribe drove the Desert Yellow-armored King Scorpions to the north, and the people in the Black Mountain Hills were trying to push them to the south. Everyone was just struggling to survive.

"Ah, the helpless actions of small tribes," Kui Qing sighed heavily, then silently led Jiang Lin and the others toward the Black Mountain Hills.

The road ahead was no longer a desert, but a barren, rocky path. Kui Qing's group added wheels to the wooden board, and they took turns dragging the goods forward.

As they entered the Black Mountain Hills, the desert gradually faded, and mountains began to rise. Since this was the main area of the Buli werewolves, Jiang Lin and his group didn't encounter any more trouble over the next two days. They quickly arrived at a city built in the mountains, made of piled stones—Buli City.

"Brother Lin, you've worked hard during this time," A Mo said apologetically upon arriving at Buli City. He knew that Jiang Lin could fly, but Jiang Lin had chosen to suffer along the ground with him for his "improper request." This made A Mo both grateful and guilty.

"It's fine." Jiang Lin, fully wrapped in his black cloak, looked up at the sizable Buli City. He then took out a black iron badge from his chest and flicked it with his finger. The two characters "Qilin" engraved on it gleamed with an inexplicable light in the sunlight.

"I'm also a mercenary, so fulfilling the employer's request is no trouble," Jiang Lin said with a slight smile. Though he found himself a bit helpless at having turned from employer to mercenary, this was one of the few chances to get high-level magic cores. Jiang Lin was eager for more.

"No need to rest. Let's go check on your sister's condition," Jiang Lin added.

"If I remember correctly, your sister's name is A Xiao, right?"
