I shoot upright like lightning just zapped through my spine. "Kyaaa! The pill!"
Both Kael and Zeref stare at me. Zeref looks amused, of course he does, while Kael looks like he's already regretting his life choices.
"The gender-change pill!" I shout again, pointing at the sky like that's going to help. "I totally forgot! I need two Rank SS boss cores for that thing, remember?"
Zeref snorts. "I thought your priority was survival, not cosmetics."
"Excuse me, this is not cosmetics. This is identity restoration!" I puff my chest out, but my voice cracks at the end. "If I'm gonna die, I at least want to die in my own body, thank you very much."
Kael sighs through his nose, crossing his arms. "You're impossible."
"And yet," Zeref hums, "we're still following her."
I shoot him a look. "You love it."
He grins. "Guilty."
