Chapter 7 - CHAPTER - 7 INDEED SEVEN IS MY FAVOURITE NUMBER

The morning is so soothing; after all, it's my Cǎoméi xiānsheng's birthday — how can it not be? I think this day should be declared the best day of the whole year in China. Then I remembered something about last night when I celebrated your birthday — ooh, my first kiss with you! I know it was on your photo frame, but still, for a little girl like me, it's enough to make me blush harder.

Then a voice came, "Zhao Shiza, be ready! You're getting late for school!"

I replied, "Yes, Mama, coming."

Then I muttered to myself, "I don't want to go to school today. It's his birthday! I don't want to celebrate it in school by studying those boring subjects or getting scolded by my math teacher. But what should I do?"

"Okay, I understand what I should do," then I smirked.

I immediately pulled off my blanket and got myself ready for school, wore my uniform, then tied my hair into two ponytails. I came out of my room where Mama was waiting for me. I asked her, "Where is bàba and Zhao Xin? Where are they?"

Then Mama replied, "Your Papa went on his business trip for some client purpose, and your sister went on a trip with her friends."

I said to myself, "Why didn't she tell me this? She's so cruel."

"Xiao Shiza, please eat your breakfast. I'm too busy today, I need to go visit your aunt."

"Aunt? Who? Aunt Mama oh, the one who fell ill two days ago? Is she fine?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, she is. But all our family relatives are going to visit her today, so I'm going too. You just take the keys with you to school because I might come back late."

This is what I wanted!

"Yes? Did you say something, Zhao Shiza?"

"No, Mama," I said in the most innocent way I could.

"Okay then, I'm leaving. Eat your breakfast properly, and I've packed your lunch — take it from the table. And please don't throw or forget the keys here and there. God, I can't trust this girl; she's such a clumsy one."

I smirked and said, "Don't worry, Mama. Your daughter has now become mature."

"Yes, I see how mature you are. Okay, bye-bye. Stop wasting my time."

Then the door shut, and I started jumping on the floor like a little kid. Then the door opened again — it was Mama.

"Xiao Shiza, I forgot my purse. Okay, now I'm leaving."

The door shut again.

I said to myself, "Thank God Mama didn't see me jumping on the floor; otherwise, she would've canceled her plan and stayed with me."

I took a sigh of relief. "No school today!"

I immediately changed out of my uniform and wore my normal clothes. Then I sat on my bed and started scrolling through his Weibo account — and wait, what was that? Oh! He posted his birthday photos with the cake! Wow! My legs are flying in the air while seeing this. "Look, look! The cake even has strawberries on it!" Then I giggled.

He looks so handsome, wearing his dark sweatshirt and white pajama with a cap — wow, it's enough to make my heart flutter. Then I was reading a few comments where it was written, Happy Birthday Xu Yuan, this is your 24th birthday!

And I… I didn't know how to feel or what to say. "So you're seven years older than me? Okay, then from now onwards, seven is my favorite number."

But then a thought came into my mind — Am I too young for you?

But it quickly disappeared as I said to myself, "There's nothing wrong or right in love. The moment I see you, the only thing that comes to me is — I don't think it's wrong anymore."

Ooh, a boy a bit mature and a girl younger — wow, what a relationship, a drama-type relationship. He's 24, I'm 17." Then I blushed, covering my face with a blanket.

"But wait, Zhao Shiza will never ever have Xu Yuan in her life. Then there's no use in this giggling and blushing. Stop doing this. Stop making yourself a fool."

"No… no, I don't know what's going to happen, but right now, in my present, I love—no, love is a small word. I worship him. I want to live today and enjoy this feeling deeply, because I don't know if in the future I'll ever be able to have this feeling again."

And just like that, the whole morning and evening passed. It's about 7:29 p.m. at night, and I'm still in my room, lost in my thoughts. Then the bell rang…
