He finally reached the hospital after an hour of struggle. He parked his car and started running like if he stopped, then he might lose it—lose everything in his life. He reached inside the hospital where he stood in front of the lift, waiting for it to arrive, but it was a bit slower. He didn't have time to waste, so he took the stairs instead of the lift and ran to the third floor while holding the box in which the blood was kept in his left hand.
He reached the floor half panting, breathless, his hair messy from the continuous running and coming all over his forehead. And the moment he reached the corridor of the third floor, he saw that Dr. Feng was already standing outside your room and talking about something with Wang Ruoxi, but he wasn't able to hear it because the moment he reached there, Dr. Feng's and Wang Ruoxi's attention went towards him.
"Doctor Feng," Yuan said in a hurry and half-breathless voice, "please take it. This is the blood—her blood. Please start the transfusion as soon as possible," he said to Dr. Feng while handing him that box.
Dr. Feng immediately called his team and said, "We got the blood. Let's start the transfusion process fast. Everyone, get ready." And then he went inside the room, and the room got locked.
Here outside the room, Yuan and Wang Ruoxi were standing there. They didn't say a word to each other. The only thing that mattered for both of them right now was me. Yuan went slightly far away from that room, but Wang Ruoxi was still standing in front of it.
Two hours passed. Doctor Feng finally came out of the room. The door opened, Doctor Feng removed his gloves and mask, looked at Wang Ruoxi's face, and said, "Don't worry. The transfusion process was successful. She is stable now."
"Thank God," Wang Ruoxi said.
"Thank someone else also," Doctor Feng said to her.
She gave a confused expression to him as she couldn't understand what he wanted to say. Then Doctor Feng took a deep breath and said, "There is someone who is praying for her from all of us sides, and how could God not answer it?"
Then Wang Ruoxi saw that far away in the corridor, Yuan was kneeling down on his knees. His hands were interlocked with each other. His eyes were closed, but his lips were continuously moving like he was doing a prayer that would not stop until it got fulfilled.
Meanwhile, Yuan was praying, asking God that please, if you want to take something, then take me, but don't do anything to her—anything to her. "Her birthday…" his voice cracked while saying it. Her birthday became such an unforgettable nightmare that she didn't even imagine that her birthday would ever come like this.
His eyes were closed while praying and saying all this. Then suddenly, a hand was placed on his shoulder. He immediately opened his eyes, and there was Dr. Feng standing in front of him, smiling faintly, and said, "Young man, your prayers have gotten an answer."
He immediately stood up and asked, "Is she… is she alright?"
"Of course she is. After all, someone is praying that hard for her. How could she not be alright?"
Yuan didn't wait for a second and was about to run inside the room, but Dr. Feng firmly stopped him with both his hands and said, "Wait. Hold your breath, young man."
"I need to see her. It's been hours. I didn't see her," Yuan said while getting a little panicked to see me.
"She is under observation for tonight, and she is not in her conscious state right now. Wait just a little longer," Dr. Feng said.
Tears started forming in Yuan's eyes, and they didn't stop and came out uncontrollably. "Okay… just let me see her from far away. I promise I won't disturb her. I won't go inside the room. I'll just… just see her through the glass. Just let me… let me, please," his voice cracked while speaking this.
Dr. Feng exhaled sharply and didn't say anything. He just smiled and nodded his head. The moment Yuan got his approval, he ran towards the room and stood in front of the glass, placing one hand on it, like he was checking even through that glass whether I was still breathing or not. When he saw it, he got assurance that I was still alive. A sigh of relief finally went through his face.
"Sorry… sorry… I am so sorry, my silly girl. Because of me, you are here fighting for your own life. If I hadn't left you at that time, all this wouldn't have happened to you, wouldn't it? It's all… all my fault," Yuan's voice cracked while saying all these things.
Meanwhile, me lying on that bed, motionless and pale, the IV drip connected to my hand, surrounded by machines. It looked like you were sleeping. "Sleep, silly girl. Sleep. I won't disturb you. But tomorrow, you need to wake up early. Otherwise, you know me—I have my own ways to make you wake up. Then don't blame me after that," he said while still looking at me through the glass window with a faint laugh on his face.
Dr. Feng was seeing all this from far away and smiled. Then a nurse passing by asked Dr. Feng, "This actor Xu Yuan… I never thought that he would care for someone like this. I mean, isn't it looking like a proper drama series scene?"
Dr. Feng smiled and said, "It's just because you are still seeing him as an actor."
"And what about you? You are not seeing him that way—the way I am?" the nurse asked.
Dr. Feng smiled again and said, "No. In fact, I am witnessing a love I have never seen before. He must be a popular actor who always does such emotional scenes, but what I see is that this is the first time this young man is crying truly from his heart—not for a scene or for acting. He didn't even care how many people noticed him here since he entered the hospital. The only thing that matters to him is his girl. Actually, you were not there when he brought that girl here. He was lifeless. It looked like he was begging for his own life to save hers. There is no doubt that he is completely captivated by that girl's love."
Dr. Feng took a deep sigh and said, "I am lucky that in my whole career I am able to see love like this. Now I believe that love is the best and purest form in this world, and it can defeat any hurdles in life."
The nurse smiled and asked Dr. Feng, "So, Dr. Feng, if one day your daughter brings her boyfriend to you, will you approve their love too?"
Dr. Feng smiled, understanding that she was cross-questioning him, so he said, "Of course I will, but there should be one condition."
"What condition?" she asked shockingly, looking at Dr. Feng's expression.
"That if she loves someone, then that boy should be like him," he said.
"Like him?" the nurse repeated. "You mean like Xu Yuan?"
Dr. Feng smiled and nodded his head.
Meanwhile, Wang Ruoxi came to ask Dr. Feng, "Doctor, is she completely alright?"
Dr. Feng smiled again and said, "Yes, she is. She just needs rest. But there is one important thing I need to tell you. Don't let her lose her blood in the future due to any reason. Be careful, as her blood is the rarest of the rare. We all went mad while finding that blood. Only God knows how that young man was able to get it," he said while seeing Xu Yuan, who was standing in front of the glass watching me.
Wang Ruoxi looked at him, then turned towards the doctor and said, "Anything else, doctor?"
"Yes, one more thing. Do register her blood. Something this rare needs to be registered. It will be beneficial for her in the future if she has any medical emergency. Otherwise, till that young man is there with her, nothing is going to happen to her," Dr. Feng said.
Wang Ruoxi didn't have anything to say. She just nodded her head and left.
Meanwhile, Yuan received a call. He picked it up immediately, and what he heard was very unbelievable.
"Mr. Xu Yuan, her accident was pre-planned. It wasn't an accident. Someone tried to hurt her. We got the evidence—the CCTV footage from that road at that time. The person intentionally targeted her. We have noted the car number. We'll reach him soon, within a few hours."
"Do it as soon as possible. I want that person right in front of me," Yuan said in rage and ended the call.
Meanwhile, Wang Ruoxi saw her phone. "Why is Yang Lulu calling me?" she said to herself, then picked it up and said, "Hello, Yang Lulu…"
