Chapter 93 - CHAPTER - 93 YÌ ZHÍ DĚNG NǏ ( ALWAYS WAITING FOR YOU)

He ran through the hospital corridor like a madman, a madman in love. Everyone in the hospital was staring at him—his white shirt completely covered in blood, his red eyes swollen from crying continuously for the past few hours. But he didn't even notice any of it, because for him the only thing that mattered at that moment was saving his girl, who was lying there pale and motionless.

He came out of the hospital, took out his phone from his pocket, dialled a number, and asked the person on the call as soon as they picked up, "Did you get the blood?"

"Sorry, Mr. Xu Yuan, we couldn't get it."

"Find it right away. I don't care how—just find it as soon as possible. Search the whole Shanghai, it doesn't matter to me. I want it right now. Do you understand?" Yuan said harshly before cutting the call.

He started rubbing his forehead due to a headache. Then suddenly he remembered something and called someone else.

"Money doesn't matter. Just find that blood group. If you need to search in Chongqing, Beijing, Shenzhen—anywhere in the whole China—just search it."

He cut the call.

Then he reached his car, started it, and promised himself, "Just hold on… just hold on, my silly girl. I'll come back only when I get that blood."

He started driving. Tears kept falling as memories flooded his mind—every moment they had created together played in front of his eyes like a memory lane. He cried while driving.

"It was her birthday… her birthday, and this is what she got. She had to suffer this much. It's all because of me. Because of me," he repeated.

"It's all my fault. If I hadn't left you there, this would have never happened. Never, never. You would be lying on your dorm bed, chatting with me on WeChat—not lying on an operation theatre bed, fighting for your own life."

"I swear… I swear, when I find out who hit you, I'll make sure that person won't see tomorrow's sunrise." He didn't just say it—he meant it.

Yuan started searching for hospitals all over Shanghai, visiting them one by one himself. He went to almost every hospital in the city but still couldn't find what he needed.

His hands started shaking while holding the steering wheel. Time was moving too fast—minutes turning into hours.

Before entering the last hospital, he closed his eyes for a moment and said to himself, "God, if you want to take something, then take me. But don't take her life. Please don't. She wants to see the whole world. Please don't take her away from me."

"You can't take everyone I love away from me. You can't. Not this time. Not this time. I won't let you."

He made a promise to himself before stepping out of the car. Time was running out. No news had come from anyone regarding the blood. This hospital was his last hope, because if this didn't work, then everyone would know that he couldn't make it.

After gathering all his courage, he stepped out of the car and entered the hospital.

Inside, he spoke to a senior doctor. The doctor said, "Mr. Xu Yuan, the blood group you're asking for—we have it from one patient."

Yuan smiled. "Thank you, doctor. Please give it to me. Please."

The doctor took a deep sigh. "But there is one problem."

"What problem?" Yuan asked.

"The donor is a teenage girl, and her family is not willing to proceed because a huge amount of blood is required."

"Can I meet the donor?" Yuan asked.

The doctor nodded. "Sure. Come with me."

He entered the room. The girl was sitting on the bed in her school uniform, playing a game on her phone. When she saw Yuan, she smiled brightly.

"Xu Yuan? Oh God, I can't believe you came here. My heart is fluttering," she said excitedly.

Yuan sat on the chair beside her bed and asked the doctor, "Can I talk to her for ten minutes?"

The doctor nodded and left the room, closing the door behind him.

"You know what, Xu Yuan? I've watched all your dramas, but I never imagined you'd personally visit me," the girl said.

Yuan smiled through his teary eyes.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked.

"Hmm," he replied, trying to control his emotions.

She took out a notebook from her bag, opened a page, and held it out to him. "Can you please give me an autograph?"

He smiled faintly and nodded. While signing, his hands trembled, but he controlled it before she noticed.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Lin Xu," she replied.

He signed the autograph and handed the notebook back.

She smiled. "I'll frame this in my room and show everyone at school."

Then she noticed something—pain behind his smile, regret on his face. Xu Yuan was expressive; his eyes never lied.

"Xu Yuan… are you crying?" she asked softly.

He smiled again and gathered courage. He knew what he was about to ask would be cruel, but he had no other choice.

"I want to ask you something too. Can I?" he asked.

She nodded.

"You remind me of someone," he said.

"Who?" she asked.

"A girl just like you. My little fan girl."

"Where is she now?"

"She's in the hospital… fighting for her life."

"That's sad," Lin Xu said.

He hesitated before continuing, knowing how unfair this was. "You can help her."

"How?" she asked innocently.

"You and she share the same blood group—the rarest blood group in the world. She needs blood, and no one else has it except you."

Lin Xu thought for a moment. "Is she pretty?"

Yuan smiled. "She's the prettiest girl my eyes have ever seen."

"Is she your girlfriend?" Lin Xu asked quietly.

He nodded. "Yes."

She crossed her arms. "So you want me to help my enemy who took my crush away? No, I won't."

"It's not like that," Yuan said quickly. "She never took me away from anyone. In fact, she's the one who suffered her whole life because of me."

"She's just like you, Lin Xu. My fan girl. I have millions of fans, but I've never seen love like hers."

"I see a glimpse of her in you—how she might have looked during her school days. You really remind me of her."

"She isn't your enemy. She's her own enemy. She always puts herself in danger to save others. She hides her pain and tears. No matter how much she cries, she makes sure people around her smile."

"She carries everyone's sadness inside herself. Tell me—does a soul that only does good deserve pain?"

Lin Xu looked down.

"I won't force you," Yuan said gently. "It was nice meeting you. Because of you, I got to see how she might have been during her school days. Thank you."

He turned to leave.

Suddenly, Lin Xu spoke. "Your girlfriend… she really seems like a beautiful soul. And she's cute too. If she's in trouble and you're this upset, I can't see my idol like this. I'll help her."

Yuan turned back. "Thank you. Thank you so much. You don't know what you've done."

"But I'm jealous of her," Lin Xu said playfully. "Promise me that in the next life, you'll be my boyfriend."

Yuan smiled. "No. You don't deserve to be my girlfriend. You deserve to be my daughter."

Lin Xu smiled. "Tell her she's very lucky to have you."

Yuan smiled inwardly, thinking how much she endured just to be with him.

As he was about to leave, Lin Xu held his hand. "Your girlfriend is cute… but I'm pretty too."

Yuan smiled. "You're the second prettiest girl I've met in my life."

She laughed. "I know the first one is your girlfriend."

After a few minutes, the doctor handed him the blood box. "Here you go, Mr. Xu Yuan."

Before leaving the hospital, Yuan said, "Thank that girl and her family."

The doctor nodded.

Yuan ran out of the hospital, breathless and panting, his only thought echoing in the cold, dark Shanghai night—

"Hold on, silly girl. Hold on just a little more. I'm coming to you. Your Yuan is coming. Wait for me like you always did. You waited for me for years—now just wait a few more minutes. I won't let anything happen to you. I won't."

He kept making silent promises to himself while running towards his car...
