In the briefing room, a holographic map was projected onto the table. Amidst the complex mountainous terrain, a clear red line marked the border between Huaxia and Myanmar.
On the Myanmar side, a bright red dot stood out conspicuously.
That was the target for Kenji and the others: the Team Rocket base.
"Is this Team Rocket base built right next to a city?" Kenji pointed at the map, surprised.
Right next to the red dot was a city labeled Myawaddy (Miao Dan Lun in text, likely fictionalized or reference to Myawaddy/Mandalay).
Cao Fu nodded. "Correct. Myanmar is different from our country. Collusion between local police and criminal gangs is not uncommon. A global criminal organization like Team Rocket is something even the official Myanmar League hesitates to provoke."
If one word could describe Myanmar, it would be "chaos."
Myanmar's problems ran deep. If Team Rocket hadn't extended its reach into Huaxia, the Huaxia League wouldn't have wanted to intervene in the Myanmar League's affairs.
"We've negotiated with the Myanmar League through the United Leagues, but to avoid alerting the enemy, we cannot request help from the local police. We might even face obstruction from local warlords in Myawaddy during the raid," Cao Fu continued.
Next came the planning phase. The operation would center around Hua Mingyan, the Provincial Gym Leader with a Champion-level ace.
To pull out the weeds, one must remove the roots. Since they were making a move, they had to completely eradicate the Team Rocket presence threatening Southern Cloud Province in one go.
Additionally, they needed to ensure the safety of civilians in nearby Myawaddy, prevent collateral damage, and coordinate with the Myanmar League... and so on.

Early the next morning, Kenji set out with the prosecutors, Hua Mingyan, and a squad of elite border troops toward the Team Rocket base.
To avoid alerting local warlords, the team wasn't large, but every member was an elite.
Following the pre-established route, they split into several groups, riding their Flying-type Pokémon.
Upon reaching their designated positions, they didn't act immediately.
Team Rocket conducted biological experiments, but their technological level was also high.
The prosecutors had racked their brains just to pinpoint the base's location.
"It's so hidden. No wonder it took so long to find," Kenji murmured, looking at the surrounding mountains from the air.
Myawaddy was nearby, and the base's location looked no different from any other suburban forest area. Dense trees, gentle rolling hills.
If Kenji hadn't been told, he never would have guessed a Team Rocket base was hidden beneath.
It looked like a forest, but in reality, the entire area was likely under Team Rocket's surveillance.
To raid the base without alerting them prematurely, they first had to disable the monitoring systems hidden in the forest and above the base.
This was a job for the tech specialists.
Time ticked by. Kenji waited quietly for Cao Fu's signal.
Finally, Cao Fu's voice crackled over the radio.
"Begin the operation!!"
The moment the order was given, the prosecutors around Kenji moved out, heading toward the base.
Kenji moved too, but his objective wasn't to breach the main gate with Cao Fu and Hua Mingyan. Instead, he joined a squad of prosecutors to search the perimeter for potential escape routes.

Moments later, a massive explosion erupted from the opposite direction.
Like a fuse lighting a firecracker, the previously silent forest instantly became chaotic.
The ground rumbled, and explosions echoed continuously without pause.
Kenji knew this meant Hua Mingyan and the main force had engaged the enemy.
"Found one!!"
A prosecutor shouted. Kenji looked over. In an inconspicuous spot, after clearing away some camouflage, a tunnel entrance was revealed. However, it was currently blocked by a heavy iron gate.
"Some of you stay here! The rest follow me to find other exits!!" a prosecutor ordered.
Most of the squad left, leaving Kenji and a small group of prosecutors and border guards behind.
Everyone released their Pokémon, staring vigilantly at the closed iron gate.
"Why don't we just break in?" Kenji asked casually. If they could enter through these escape tunnels, they could bypass the main defenses and catch Team Rocket off guard.
The prosecutor laughed, seemingly finding Kenji's question naive. He pointed at the gate. "Forget it. That gate is reinforced. Even an ordinary Champion-level Pokémon would struggle to break it. Plus, it has barriers that interfere with Psychic and Ghost types. If we could break it, we wouldn't be waiting here."

Kenji heard this and looked at Beedrill.
Beedrill understood immediately. It flew from Kenji's side to the iron gate.
Seeing this, the bored prosecutors and soldiers all turned their attention to Beedrill.
Under everyone's gaze, Beedrill raised its lance high and stabbed forward.

A heavy, muffled sound echoed. The iron gate trembled slightly.
A dent appeared where Beedrill had struck.
