Chapter 371: Mewtwo vs. The Guardian Deity!

CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!!! —

Mewtwo clenched its three-fingered hand. Below, several pillars of seawater, each over ten meters wide, erupted toward the heavens. Under the grip of its psychic will, the water surged upward like liquid pythons, coiling violently around the Giant Dragonite's colossal limbs.

Simultaneously, Mewtwo's eyes flared, and it fired a jagged beam of absolute zero from its palm.

Ice Beam!!!

Unlike a standard Ice Beam, the bowl-thick ray of energy began to splinter in mid-air. It fractured into dozens of slender, needle-like beams that bored into the swirling water pythons.

In the next heartbeat, the massive pillars of water flash-frozen. They transformed into jagged, sky-piercing ice spikes. Under Mewtwo's telekinetic control, the spikes lunged inward from every angle, aiming to impale the Deity.

BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!!!! —

A series of thunderous explosions echoed as the reinforced ice shattered against the Giant Dragonite's hide, erupting into a blinding mist of frozen vapor.

"RWOOAAA!!!! —"

Even though the Deity's scales had been hardened by eons of natural tempering, granting it near-impenetrable defense, it couldn't fully ignore a 4x super-effective Ice attack from a Master-rank peer. It let out a roar of pain and frustration.

With a violent beat of its mountain-sized wings, a localized gale erupted, pulverized the remaining ice into dust.

Not letting up, the Deity banked its wings, and a Dragon-Tornado Blade materialized.

A high-level combo of Twister and Air Slash. Both moves carried a high probability of making the target flinch. By fusing them, the Deity had created a vacuum blade wreathed in draconic energy that promised to shred anything in its path.

Facing the sky-rending gale, Mewtwo simply spread its arms. It injected its raw mental will into the air, manifesting a blade of pure, translucent pink energy.

Psycho Cut!!!

It transformed its psychic power into a physical edge, a weapon designed to strike with surgical precision.

SWISH!!!! —

The Psycho Cut left its hand, colliding with the Dragon-Tornado Blade in mid-air. Another catastrophic explosion rocked the Fog Zone.

The duel continued, a relentless exchange of god-tier techniques. Beams of energy and waves of pressure collided and detonated every few seconds. It was a blessing that the battlefield was the open ocean; if this fight were happening on land, the sheer atmospheric displacement would have leveled a mountain range.

A few kilometers away, Kenji stood on Gyarados's head, his eyes narrowed as he strained to see the two silhouettes through the mist.

Ninetales stood beside him, her nine tails fanning out to maintain a psychic barrier that shielded Kenji from the stray shockwaves.

Even from this distance, the aftershocks were violent. Without the barrier, Kenji's "normal" human body would have been crushed by the fluctuating air pressure alone.

Kenji activated his Data Eye, focusing on the golden light of the Deity first.

[Giant Dragonite] (Guardian Deity)

Gender: Male

Level: 100 (Master-rank)

Type: Dragon / Flying

Ability: Multiscale

Potential: Limit

As expected, the Deity was Level 100. Kenji wasn't surprised; if a being that old hadn't reached the ceiling, it would have been more shocking.

But what actually made his heart skip a beat was the potential.

Limit.

This was the first time since Kenji had awakened the System that he had encountered a Pokémon whose initial potential was already at the "Limit."

Even his Mythical Darkrai and the space-born Deoxys had only started at S+.

This ancient dragon, through eons of existence and the reverence of its people, had transcended the biological boundaries of its species entirely.

If I could catch that thing... and Star-Up a Limit Potential Pseudo-Legendary to 4-Stars...

Kenji's breath hitched. A base stat total of 600, plus the 4-Star boost... it would reach an incomprehensible 1080. It would be a Pokémon capable of staring down the Creator itself.

He shifted his gaze to the armored figure.

[Mewtwo]

Gender: Unknown

Level: 100 (Master-rank)

Type: Psychic

Ability: Pressure

Potential: Limit

Kenji's jaw tightened. As the clone of Mew, the ancestor of all Pokémon, it was only natural that Mewtwo shared that same ultimate potential.

"We've been spotted."

Ninetales's voice echoed in Kenji's mind, her tone heavy with concern.

"That creature... its mental reach is staggering. It just scanned us. It was a warning—a psychic push. If we get any closer, it will view us as hostiles."

Kenji's eyes widened. He was over a kilometer away, and Mewtwo was locked in a life-or-death struggle with a mountain-sized dragon. Yet, it still had enough cognitive surplus to detect and warn a few "ants" on the horizon.

Fortunately, Mewtwo seemed too preoccupied with the Deity to bother swatting them just yet.

"CHAAA!!!! —"

Arbok hissed violently, its cold vertical pupils locked onto Mewtwo. The bloodline resonance was screaming in its ears; it wanted to lunge into the fray to defend its progenitor.

"Siii..."

Beedrill's crimson eyes glowed. It felt the threat of the armored god and responded with its own aura, a silent warning to the telepath: Touch my trainer, and I will tear through your void.

Kenji reached down and patted Arbok's head. "Easy, partner. Let them fight for now. The Deity is strong; Mewtwo won't be finishing this anytime soon."

"Our priority is the coast," Kenji said, his voice sharpening. "We need to deal with those cloned Legendaries that are pushing toward the island."

Arbok let out one final roar at the battlefield before turning its head back toward the island. It hissed another direction, guiding Gyarados through the shifting mists using its biological compass.

Mewtwo and the Giant Dragonite were Master-rank deities. They were walking natural disasters. Kenji knew that even Beedrill might struggle in a direct, three-way brawl with entities like that.

Better to clear the "smaller" threats first. Once the clones were dealt with and Mewtwo was further drained by the Deity, he would return with Beedrill to end the stalemate.

Kenji pivoted his team, and Gyarados surged forward, racing toward the sounds of the coastal battle.

Dragon Island Coastline.

"Damn! These dragons are persistent! Even against Legendaries, they won't back down!!!"

In a high-tech command VTOL hovering above the waves, a Team Rocket Executive spat an oath.

"Hmph. Let them struggle," another Executive replied, leaning back with his arms crossed. "As long as Lord Mewtwo is keeping that monster Deity occupied, the other Master-rank dragon on the island won't dare leave the settlement. We have the numbers, and we have five Legendaries on our side."

He looked out the window at the soulless, red-eyed clones of Suicune and Articuno tearing through the island's defenders.

"Once Lord Mewtwo deletes that giant lizard, Dragon Island belongs to the Boss!!"
