Chapter 382 - Chapter 372: Dragon Island Coast! Kenji Joins the Fray!

Chapter 372: Dragon Island Coast! Kenji Joins the Fray!

The Giant Dragonite possessed world-shaking power, but it was currently caught in a tactical deadlock. If Mewtwo truly desired it, the Deity could not prevent the psychic monster from shifting the battlefield directly onto Dragon Island.

And if that happened, the island—and everyone on it—would be reduced to ash within minutes.

The reason they were currently dueling in the open ocean, far from the settlement, was due to a cold, unspoken pact between the two Master-rank entities.

By keeping the duel offshore, the island's second Master-rank Dragonite was forbidden from intervening. To Mewtwo, the other ancient dragon was a variable that had to be neutralized. If the second Master-rank dragon made a move, Mewtwo would instantly abandon its duel with the Deity and launch a decapitation strike on the island itself.

Even if the Deity tried to stop it, the collateral damage from a clash between three gods would sink the island regardless.

Conversely, if Mewtwo attacked the island first, the Deity, freed from its protective restraint, would launch a berserk retaliation that would wipe Team Rocket's fleet off the face of the earth.

Thus, while the grunts fought on the coast, the true fate of the island rested on the god-tier stalemate occurring in the mist.

"Is Mewtwo truly that powerful? Can it really take down the Guardian Deity?" a younger Team Rocket Executive asked, his voice laced with anxiety.

He had every reason to be worried. Their lives, and the lives of every operative in the sector, were tied to Mewtwo's performance. If the armored god fell, they would have to face the unbridled fury of the Dragon Clan alone.

He hadn't been part of the previous raid years ago, but he had seen the grainy satellite footage of the Deity sinking a fleet. The memory of that mountain-sized shadow rising from the deep still gave him nightmares.

The lead Executive, arms crossed, offered a confident smirk. "Calm yourself. The horror of Lord Mewtwo is beyond your comprehension. That giant lizard is a relic of the past. It's already over; the Deity just hasn't realized it yet!!!"

Bolstered by his superior's certainty, the junior officer turned his attention back to the primary battlefield.

Below them, a literal tide of red-eyed Pokémon was surging toward the shores of Dragon Island.

The vast majority were Ice-types—a calculated choice. Their elemental advantage was a lethal threat to the Dragon/Flying Dragonite population.

But even more terrifying than the typing was the sheer, dizzying scale of the assault. They were like a plague of locusts, numbering in the thousands.

This was the crowning achievement of Team Rocket's genetic research. Every single one of these bloodthirsty, berserk creatures was a product of perfect cloning technology.

They weren't just copies; their genomes had been edited for maximum aggression and absolute obedience. They felt no pain, no fear, and possessed a suicidal loyalty to Team Rocket's commands. They were biological machines.

The lead Executive watched the slaughter with hungry eyes.

Cloning is the greatest discovery in human history, he thought. Why bother with years of tedious training and bonding when you can mass-produce a Champion-level army for a fraction of the cost?

With this technology and Mewtwo as their spearhead, he truly believed Team Rocket would dismantle the Global League and reshape the world in their image within a year.

He was so lost in his vision of grand conquest that he failed to notice the golden blur approaching from the horizon at Mach speeds.

"Let's go!!! Wipe them out!"

"And remember—watch your fire! Don't hit our allies!"

A boy's voice rang out across the waves, cutting through the sounds of war.

The first to make contact was a streak of yellow and red—a lance of divine retribution that pierced into the heart of the clone swarm like a hot needle through silk.

Beedrill had arrived.

KRA-KOOM!!!! —

The sonic boom from its flight alone was enough to physically flip the frontline grunts and their Pokémon into the air. The sheer atmospheric pressure of its passage left a trail of unconscious clones in its wake.

Beedrill's target was clear: the three Articunos circling above the defenders.

BANG!!!!! —

One of the red-eyed Articunos didn't even register the threat. It was focused on sniping two island Dragonites when a golden shadow flickered behind it.

THUD!! —

Beedrill uncoiled a single lance. With a sound like a hammer hitting an anvil, it drove its stinger into the clone's back, slamming the legendary bird straight out of the sky.

The Articuno plummeted like a downed fighter jet, crashing into the swarm of grunts below and taking out a dozen more clones on impact.

The island's Dragonites stared in stunned silence. They didn't know who this newcomer was, but before they could decide if it was a friend or another nightmare, Beedrill had already vanished again, appearing behind the second Articuno.

"CHAAA!!!!! —"

On the water's surface, Arbok was a blur of obsidian. Its speed was so immense it didn't swim—it literally ran across the waves, its scales reflecting the dark ocean.

It lunged straight for the two cloned Suicunes treading water.

"Elec-bzzzt!!!! —"

Electivire hit the field next. Utilizing Magnet Rise, it hovered above the waves, its black-and-yellow hide crackling with enough voltage to power a city.

Finding itself over the ocean—the ultimate conductive environment—Electivire didn't hold back. It activated Thunder Armor and dove straight into the thickest part of the clone tide.

The moment its feet touched the water, arcs of lightning erupted like frenzied serpents. The sea became a death trap of high-voltage energy, and Electivire stood at the center of the storm—a Thunder Tyrant looking for a fight.
