Lorena's lips curved into a confident smile. "Don't worry about it. Once I become part of the Mathews family, I'll be her sister-in-law. There will be plenty of opportunities to help her see reason."
Watching Lorena's composed and optimistic expression, I felt a knot form in my stomach. The woman was being far too naive about the situation.
Human nature was predictably stubborn, especially when it came to someone like Isabelle. She wasn't just the Mathews family's precious only daughter, she also carried the prestigious Quilla bloodline.
Even if Isabelle committed some terrible mistake, Louis would never dare to reprimand her harshly.
Eddie would simply make excuses for her behavior. Lorena's fantasy about "helping her see reason" was dangerously foolish.
Considering Isabelle's temperament, she would never tolerate Lorena marrying into the Mathews family.
If she appeared to accept it, that would only mean she had some darker scheme brewing.
