Dahlia's POV
Sleep refused to come that night. I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling until the clock struck two in the morning, my mind racing with thoughts I couldn't quiet.
Soren never returned home. When morning arrived, Emilio informed me that Soren had rushed Diana back to Weston City without warning.
He departed in such haste that he forgot to notify his own wife of his whereabouts.
The behavior didn't surprise me though. When someone you care about sees desire in your eyes for another person, even if that person is merely fulfilling a contract, jealousy becomes inevitable.
Of course Diana needed to assert her territory and remind everyone of her importance.
My phone buzzed while I stood in the lobby of the Seastar Hotel.
The screen displayed a message from an unfamiliar number containing a single photograph.
