Dahlia's POV
The impact hit us like a freight train.
Metal screamed against metal as our world turned upside down in seconds. My instincts kicked in immediately, and I threw myself over Lorena, shielding her from the shower of glass that erupted around us.
Sharp fragments sliced across my forehead, sending warm blood trickling down my face.
"Dahlia, oh God, what happened? Please tell me you're okay," Lorena gasped.
Her voice shook uncontrollably as she tried to process the chaos that had just shattered our peaceful drive. Her hands trembled as she reached toward my bleeding forehead.
I forced myself to breathe slowly, assessing the damage. The cut stung, but it wasn't life-threatening. What mattered was that Lorena appeared unharmed.
Emilio, our driver, wasn't as fortunate. The impact had crushed his right leg against the brake pedal, and he couldn't move without wincing in agony.
I helped Lorena out of the wreckage immediately.
