Dahlia's POV
Dorian's car pulled into the circular driveway of Greenfield Estate, his hands gripping the steering wheel like it was the only thing keeping him grounded. The revelation from today had shattered something inside him, and I could see him struggling to piece together the fragments of what he thought he knew.
The silence stretched between us during the entire drive home. Only when the engine died did he finally break it. "Bill headed back to Weston City."
I took a breath before responding. "We can discuss everything tomorrow. It's late."
"Dahlia." His voice carried a weight that made me pause. "Are you really going back to the Mathews family?"
The concern in his eyes was unmistakable, raw and unguarded in a way that made my chest tighten.
I nodded, reaching over to squeeze his shoulder gently. "I'll manage. You need rest."
