Dahlia's POV
"She works as my assistant. Do you two happen to know each other?"
I glanced between them, watching for any reaction.
Christina maintained her composure, though her voice carried a chill when she addressed Brandon. "I wouldn't say we're particularly acquainted."
The history between Christina and Brandon stretched back to their high school days. She had been a grade ahead of him, and their paths first crossed through an unfortunate misunderstanding.
One of Brandon's roommates had developed feelings for Christina and convinced Brandon to deliver a love letter on his behalf. The moment Brandon handed over the note, a teacher spotted them. Christina found herself in trouble, facing a stern lecture about inappropriate relationships.
Being the honorable person he was, Brandon stepped forward to protect his friend. He claimed responsibility, telling everyone that he had written the letter himself.
