Kurt was suspicious about the deal. It was obviously one-sided but the specifics Layla had made about the gate had him worried. After the dinner, he had made his way back to Wellspring to figure out a few things.
He was also in the dog house.
Talia was angry at him because of the whole thing with Sara. He hadn't done anything was all he could think. She seemed to be annoyed at the very idea, and that Sara was an angel it would be easy for them to hide or something.
She was going to do it, and let them deal with the consequences. And he didn't like that idea. She was basically saying anything you let through the gate is your problem not ours. Anything that attacks Bright Flame is your problem.
And an attack shouldn't be unexpected. And if Layla wasn't there they would have no way to close a gate.
