I'm starting to regret coming to work today. My desk was filled with papers that I barely had any place to drop anything else.
"Xavier, what is this?"
"The documents you need to attend to, sir," he replied, making me roll my eyes
"I know why is it this much?" This was the first time that I had to do this much paperwork.
"Wel, sir, you haven't been answering your emails and my calls for the past few days. These are all the documents that need your attention. I tried to do some myself, but these ones had to be done by you. "
"Wait, you called?" He nodded in affirmation. I had no idea Xavier called. I was aware of the emails, but I had no idea of his calls.
"You still have scheduled meetings today that can not be postponed any longer. I'll leave you to this first," he said, turning to leave.
"Wait, Xavier," I called, making him turn.
"You should take some time off. You've done enough," I said
"Thank you for your concern, sir, but I'm fine." I sighed at his words i had already seen this coming.
"Xavier this is not a matter of choice it's an order you are to take a week off from work please go rest take a vacation or better still find a woman to date" I said the last part made him chuckle but i was serious I wasn't about to let him find his way out of this one.
"I'm being serious. Xavier, don't come to work tomorrow. If you do, I will have some men carry you back home. If I could, I would give you a month off, but I still need you, so just make do with this one. "
Do whatever you like. I'll pay for everything, " I added.
He nodded with a smile on his face, giving me a curt nod. "Thank you, sir," he said, turning to leave.
After he left, I went back to my mountain of work. I didn't even know how to start, and I still had meetings. This was not going to finish anytime soon.

I spent the entire day going to meetings, signing and reviewing documents. I didn't even realise it was already getting dark, and I was not through.
"It seems like I would have to go home later today," the thought made me sigh.
That means I would not get to see Sienna. Lately, teasing her was becoming one of my hobbies. The way she tries to hide that the things affect her or immediately go on defensive mode is cute.
I have been having second thoughts about if I should tell her about her parents or not. i knew she had the right to know, but she would be hurt, and I didn't want her to get hurt. I know it's not my right to come to that assumption still...
Since we started leaving together, I have noticed she was having nightmares, probably memories of her traumatic past.
I rarely slept at night, and when I did, I would wake up the next minute whenever I did. I always liked to drink water.
Knowing that shouldn't I always have a jug close to my nightstand, yet I never remember to do that, so I have to go downstairs to drink water.
Since I was going down, I decided to check on her. That's how I found out it happened the first and second night she was there.
Hearing her beg her aunt to stop was heard breaking she was already so hurt how will she feel if she finds out those same people were the ones that killed her parents and even took over their business.
Well, even if I didn't tell her she was going to find out one way or the other so it was better I did.
"I should call her to inform her I won't he coming home early," I mumbled, picking up my phone, then proceeded to dail her number it rang for a while, and then she finally picked up.
"Sienna I won't be able to come home early today so eat up and go to bed okay" I said she didn't say anything for a while and I even had to check if she was really on the line.
"Okay," she replied and hung up. I just stared at my phone blankly before shaking my head o qasnt even surprised.
Come to think of it, our marriage had to happen within the 60 days of getting our license, right? This whole week was going to be hectic for me, so it will probably be on Saturday.
Of course, I would have to ask Sienna first to see if it will be okay with her.
