Walking back to Whisperain's office.
As the door opened, Rosmontis looked over with an excited expression. When she saw Melantha following behind Kanna, she froze instantly.
First, she looked confused, then she bent slightly, and tears welled up in her eyes as if they might fall at any moment.
Her gaze seemed to accuse Kanna, as if to say that she had only gone for a medical check-up, and now there was another Feline by her side.
Seeing Rosmontis's reaction, Kanna thought she hadn't told her when she left. She walked over and patted Rosmontis's head. When Rosmontis stubbornly turned her head away, Kanna found it a bit strange. Although Rosmontis usually had a bit of a temper when her mood fluctuated, a head pat always fixed it. Why wasn't it working today?
Not far away, Melantha, seeing the interaction between the two little ones, consciously stood at the doorway and did not enter.
However, fortunately, the anger came and went quickly. In just a few minutes, after listening to Kanna's triumphant account, completely devoid of any hint that she had done something wrong, Rosmontis's anger subsided.
She awkwardly moved aside to let them in.
"Sorry for the trouble!"
Melantha then walked into the room.
"Sister Melantha just arrived on the island today. We'll take her to the lounge area. It's been a few days since we've played." Having finally been given permission by her teacher to escape the boring books today, Kanna naturally didn't want to stay there a second longer.
Otherwise, if Whisperain finished her work and came back, they might not have this extra playtime.
Led by the two, Melantha quickly found her living quarters. Perhaps because she wasn't admitted as a patient, her bed wasn't arranged in the hospital ward, but in the Operator's rest area. Naturally, it changed from a four-person room to a two-person room. Coincidentally, this room hadn't been occupied by anyone else, so it was essentially a private room.
Kanna, needing to charge her devices at night, worried about accidentally touching others and getting electrocuted if she shared a room. Rosmontis, due to her abilities, had to avoid inadvertently using them in her sleep and harming her comrades. Thus, both of them also had single rooms.
After putting away her luggage, Melantha finally breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing the two preparing to leave, she called out to them and took out two sachets from her backpack.
"Thank you very much, Kanna-chan and Rosmontis, for your help today. These two sachets are handmade by me. I present them to you both, hoping you like them."
After receiving Melantha's sachet, Kanna sniffed it. The scent wasn't very strong, but it was steady and lasting, not overpowering. No matter who wore it, the light floral fragrance would give a feeling of adding icing to the cake.
"Speaking of sachets, Sister Lena seemed to be troubled before about how to make the scent of sachets last longer. Sister Melantha's sachets are made so well; Sister Lena would definitely be very happy if she knew."
Holding the sachet, Kanna suddenly remembered seeing Perfumer troubled in the Greenhouse. Because the floral scent in the Greenhouse helps stabilize patients' emotions, the Greenhouse has always been an important part of the sanatorium courtyard. She had been trying to find a way to preserve this floral scent in sachets so patients could carry them around. Unfortunately, due to a lack of understanding of the production process, the sachets she made either smelled wrong or didn't last long enough.
Melantha became interested after hearing this. As someone from a perfumery family, she had a strong say in the art of fragrance making, so she had the idea of visiting this Miss Lena Kanna mentioned.
However, Kanna had helped her so much, and Melantha felt it wasn't appropriate to ask directly now. She thought for a moment; it was almost dinner time, so she invited the two to eat dinner together.
Kanna looked at the other party's small satchel and decided not to take advantage of such a kind young lady. "Let's go to the staff canteen! The food there tastes good and the portions are generous, much better than eating out! Of course, the premise is not to encounter Miss Hibiscus."
Even if Melantha had deep pockets, eating out would probably leave her wallet considerably thinner after one meal. The canteen was different; Kanna didn't have to pay for canteen food!
The reason, of course, was her young age, so Rhodes Island decided to cover her food, lodging, and education, then deduct Kanna's salary as an expense.
However, Kanna herself calculated that even if she ate at the canteen for every meal, her meager salary wouldn't last half a month, so she didn't dare to ask Kal'tsit for it.
Otherwise, if Rhodes Island really paid her salary but she had to pay for her meals, she would probably have to economize.
While Melantha was unaware that her wallet had dodged a bullet, the three arrived at the canteen.
Upon seeing Kanna, the chef at the entrance's face changed, and he hurriedly walked into the kitchen.
Kanna wasn't surprised, as this situation occurred every time she went to a canteen. However, today the other party seemed even more nervous. (Monthly fee group: 69493.6135)
As she wondered, she saw Cerberus, with golden hair, sitting there, constantly stuffing food into her mouth, while the abundant hooves beside her continuously handed her more.
"Cerberus! Sister Vulcan!" Kanna waved to the two.
Seeing Kanna and the others, Cerberus chewed on something, turned her head, and excitedly waved back at the three.
"Don't move around, your hands are all greasy, you're flinging it onto the next table." Sister Vulcan sighed, seeing Cerberus unable to speak due to a mouthful of food and only able to wave frantically. She then offered a bottle of water to Cerberus's lips.
"Gulp, gulp!" With a series of chugs, Cerberus finally swallowed the food in her mouth.
"Sister Vulcan, don't you usually stay in the workshop? Why are you so keen to bring Cerberus out to eat today?" Kanna sat next to Cerberus, not caring about the grease on her hands. Their hands met in the air, creating a crisp clap.
"The food in the workshop was eaten by Cerberus. And there hasn't been much to do lately, so I brought her out for a stroll and to relax a bit," Sister Vulcan replied to Kanna's words while unhurriedly handing Cerberus new food.
Kanna understood immediately; it was probably because Sister Vulcan felt it wasn't good for Cerberus to stay in the workshop for too long, so she brought her out for a walk.
Speaking of which, they had rarely met since Cerberus boarded the ship. Cerberus's oripathy condition was not optimistic, so she had always been a key observation subject for the medical team. And Cerberus happened not to be someone who liked to run around. Besides her own room and Sister Vulcan's workshop, the only other places were the back kitchens of various restaurants.
Perhaps Cerberus's care for her weapons moved Sister Vulcan, so she uncharacteristically took on the troublesome Cerberus, becoming her guardian on Rhodes Island.
Therefore, whenever Cerberus tried to sneak into the back kitchen, she would be sent back to Sister Vulcan's workshop by the staff.
