Perhaps Mister Patriot's desire to become the Infected's hardest shield and sharpest sword influenced the Poké Ball's judgment, which is why he was transformed into the appearance of Aegislash."
After witnessing three Infected transformed by Poké Balls, Kanna had some conjectures about the direction of the Poké Ball's transformation. Perhaps compatibility and the individual's wishes were important references for the transformation.
For example, Block's idea was to continue fighting alongside Sharp, so he became a Scyther, who is also skilled with dual blades. Frostnova wanted to escape her inflexible self, surrounded by ice, so she became a Glaceon, who also wields ice and is very agile. As for Patriot, based on her understanding of him in the story, it should be the reason she stated; otherwise, he should have transformed into a more normal creature.
