Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The Ghost Girl Appears — The Love Watch Activates for the First Time!

Somewhere in the Milky Way, aboard Vilgax's warship.

Inside the massive control hall, Vilgax stood before a towering holographic screen. On it played battle footage — Ethen's various transformations, his fights against Ben, and the crushing defeat of Krabb and Sixsix.

The image froze on Ethen's final blow.

Vilgax's crimson eyes narrowed.

"How could this little brat be so strong?" he growled, his tentacles twitching with restrained fury.

Then his lips twisted into a grin. "It seems… Earth will be the first symbol of my conquest across the galaxy!"

His blood boiled with ambition as he barked his orders.

"Continue monitoring that planet. And speed up construction of my training chamber!"

"Yes, Lord Vilgax!" a robotic soldier replied, voice filled with mechanical devotion.

Despite his species being physically weak, Vilgax had pushed himself beyond all limits — conquering world after world through sheer will and brutality. And now, he was ready to begin again.

The next morning, Grandpa Max's old rusted RV rolled through the blazing desert.

"Ugh!!" Ben let out a startled yell, pointing at Ethen's wrist. "Ethen! What the heck is that?!"

Gwen blinked. "What's wrong? Don't tell me your arm turned all demonic again?"

Ben scrunched his nose. "No, but he's wearing a pink watch now! Dude, seriously?"

The morning began with Ben's loud protest echoing through the van.

Ethen rubbed his eyes, yawning. "What's your problem this time? You all know my watch changes every now and then."

"Yeah, but pink?" Ben crossed his arms. "That's just… weird."

"I think it looks cute," Gwen said, eyes sparkling.

Grandpa Max smiled. "Alright, enough chatter. Eat your breakfast — I'm taking you kids somewhere unforgettable!"

After breakfast, the RV stopped in front of an old desert theme park.

A sun-faded sign read: "Fantasy Light Park."

Even though it was peak season, the ticket line was nearly empty. The three easily got in.

Inside, the park felt abandoned — broken rides, dusty souvenir stalls, and a hollow wind blowing through the empty paths.

"Grandpa, has this place always been this dead?" Ethen asked.

"Hey, don't underestimate Fantasy Light Park!" Max said proudly. "I used to come here all the time. Back in the day, this place had charm!"

The group walked deeper into the park — until they began noticing strange warning signs.

"Do Not Enter."

"Danger Ahead."

"Do Not Touch Anything Inside the House."

They followed the trail of signs to a small building.

"Cool!" Ben grinned, pushing the door open without hesitation.

Ethen and the others followed him inside.

In the center of the room sat a giant ball of yarn with a sign: "DO NOT TOUCH."

"Oh, come on!" Ben groaned. "They lure us in just to say that?"

Ethen stepped closer, chin resting on his hand. Something about the ball felt… alive.

Was there an alien trapped inside?

Or maybe—DNA energy?

Suddenly, the watch on his wrist chimed:

Ding! Mission: "DNA of Light" issued.

Objective: Ben's been obsessed with the Feedback for a while. You can't give him the real deal, but help him get something close — that light!

Reward: 10 points.

A smirk spread across Ethen's face. "Looks like we've got a mission."

He raised his wrist, flipping open the watch face. "Let's see what you've got for me…"

He scrolled through the silhouettes — then pressed one.

"Ghost!"

The watch pulsed with pink light.

ZAAAP!

Everyone shielded their eyes as a glowing form took shape in front of them.

When the light faded, a mysterious girl stood there — tall, with long silvery-gray hair and ruby-red eyes. One side of her face was hidden behind her bangs, giving her a haunting beauty. A grey coat wrapped around her curvy figure, and a faint ghostly aura rippled beneath her feet.

"Whoa," Ben breathed. "Should we call her… Ghost Girl?"

Gwen narrowed her eyes, sensing the eerie energy around the newcomer.

The ghost girl looked around, confused — then at Ethen.

"Why am I here…? Did you summon me?"

Ethen met her gaze calmly. "Ghost Girl, I need you to investigate that ball. Use your Phase Shift ability."

Her eyes widened slightly. He knows my abilities?

Without another word, she turned translucent and slipped into the massive ball of yarn.

Moments later, she reappeared, voice echoing with static. "There are many small creatures inside… glowing like batteries."

"Catch one. Bring it out," Ethen ordered.

She hesitated, then nodded. "Understood."

After a moment's struggle, she dragged out a ball of crackling energy. It sparked violently — transforming into a bright, buzzing alien of pure light.

The creature snarled — then fired a lightning bolt straight at Ethen!

"So fast!" Ghost Girl gasped, unable to track its movements.

BOOM!

The blast hit Ethen square in the chest.

"Ethen!!" Max shouted as Gwen ran to his side.

But Ethen merely bent his knees, brushing the smoke from his jacket.

Then he looked up — completely unharmed.

He grabbed the dazed light creature by the head. "Watch where you're aiming, kid."

The alien froze, trembling. What kind of monster is this human…?

"Ben," Ethen said calmly, "this one's perfect for your Omnitrix. Try scanning it — collect its DNA."

As Ben followed his instructions, Ethen turned back to Ghost Girl.

"I'll let that little mistake slide," he said, voice firm. "Next time, don't miss."

"I… I understand," she stammered, biting her lip. "I didn't mean to."

Though she tried to sound calm, her heart was racing. There was something about Ethen — his confidence, his control — that stirred something unfamiliar in her.

Until I figure out how to escape this watch, she thought, glancing at him, I'll just have to obey… for now.

But deep down, she knew — this boy wasn't like the others.
