"Boruto, do you like that Uchiha girl, Hikari, or not?"
Boruto froze at Kushina's blunt question. He, Kushina, Hinata, and Himawari were all sitting together on the sofa downstairs.
Krab, trying to make himself invisible, curled up at Himawari's feet, occasionally sneaking glances at Boruto.
"It's too early to talk about that kind of thing…" Boruto muttered, scratching his head.
"What's early about it?" Kushina leaned forward with a teasing smile.
"That Hikari girl seems nice. You should cherish her properly. The important task of revitalizing the Uzumaki Clan rests on your shoulders!"
Boruto's mouth twitched. "Revitalizing the Uzumaki Clan, huh…"
"Seriously, Boruto," Hinata added gently. "Sarada, Sumire Kakei, and Hikari are all good girls. You need to handle your relationships properly. Don't let any of them get hurt, alright?"
"Got it, Mother…" Boruto sighed, leaning back with his hands behind his head, staring blankly at the ceiling.
Meanwhile, upstairs in Boruto's room, the atmosphere between Sarada, Sumire Kakei, and Hikari was… complicated.
The three girls sat together on Boruto's bed, with Hikari awkwardly placed in the middle.
Her hands fidgeted on her lap, and her eyes darted between Sarada and Sumire, clearly nervous.
Sarada finally broke the silence, her tone softer than before. "Since Boruto knows you—and it seems like you have a deep connection—we'd like to hear your story."
Sumire nodded. "We're all Boruto's friends. We'd like to be your friends too, Hikari. But first, can you tell us how you met him?"
Hikari's eyes glistened, but she steadied herself and began to speak.
She told them everything—from her imprisonment in the Uchiha dungeon during the Warring States Period, to Boruto's miraculous appearance, and her long, painful search after he disappeared.
Sarada and Sumire listened quietly, occasionally exchanging glances filled with sympathy and understanding.
"So, you came to this era because of an Uzumaki Clan sealing technique," Sarada said thoughtfully. "But… how did Boruto travel back to your time?"
"Remember when Boruto fainted during that time-travel mission?" Sumire reminded her.
"Yeah, but Boruto was with us the whole time, wasn't he?" Sarada frowned.
"Yes, but I noticed something strange. His body flickered—just for a second. Maybe in that instant, he was sent to the past," Sumire explained.
"For us, it was only a moment… but for him, it could have been much longer."
Hikari nodded gently. "It was during that moment that Boruto appeared in my world. He saved me… and gave me hope."
Sarada exhaled softly. "You're really strong, Hikari. To go through all that and still find your way to him…"
Hikari lowered her head, her voice trembling. "I just… didn't want to lose him. He's the only thing I can rely on in this world."
Sarada sighed quietly, brushing a strand of Hikari's hair behind her ear.
"...Sigh," Sumire echoed, smiling faintly as she mimicked the same gesture, tucking another strand of Hikari's hair aside.
"W-What are you two doing?" Hikari asked, completely confused by their synchronized actions.
Sarada and Sumire exchanged knowing smiles. They didn't have to say anything—they both understood.
No matter how complicated things became, they were all willing to fight for Boruto's happiness.
"There's another girl," Sarada whispered.
"Yes," Sumire replied softly. "Another one."
Hikari's face flushed pink. She instantly understood what they meant. It wasn't possible for her to have Boruto all to herself.
Their acceptance—no, their understanding—filled her with mixed emotions: relief, gratitude, and guilt.
"I… I didn't mean to steal Boruto away," she said quietly.
"We know," Sarada replied with a gentle smile. "Who told Boruto to be so damn popular? Every girl ends up liking him."
Sumire chuckled. "Yeah, Boruto really does attract trouble—and hearts."
Hikari smiled faintly, her heart easing. "Thank you… I really, really like Boruto."
Meanwhile, at the Uchiha residence, Sasuke was preparing to head out.
"Sasuke, where are you going?" Sakura asked, folding her arms.
"Sarada hasn't come home for two days," Sasuke said flatly, pulling on his cloak. "I'm going to Naruto's place to check."
"Sasuke, relax," Sakura said patiently. "Sarada's with Boruto. She's fine."
"It's because she's with that yellow-haired brat that I'm not fine!" Sasuke snapped, his voice tinged with irritation.
"She's still young—staying overnight at his house? That damned brat—"
"What's with all this 'yellow-haired brat' nonsense?" Sakura cut him off sharply. "He has a name—it's Boruto!"
"I don't care!" Sasuke shot back. "He's a naturally troublesome, loudmouthed little punk!"
Sakura sighed, shaking her head. "You're being ridiculous. Boruto's a good kid. It's good that he and Sarada have a close bond."
"Good? Hmph! I don't think so!" Sasuke muttered darkly.
A few minutes later, he arrived at Naruto's house and knocked on the door.
It slowly opened—to reveal Kushina standing there, smiling cheerfully.
"Oh, if it isn't Sasuke! You were much cuter when you were little," she teased. "All pink and chubby in Mikoto's arms—I even thought you were a girl back then!"
Sasuke's face twitched. "Enough nonsense! Is Sarada inside?"
Thinking of the three girls still in Boruto's room, Kushina forced a nervous smile and shook her head. "Nope! Not here!"
"Not here…?" Sasuke narrowed his eyes suspiciously. A bad feeling stirred in his chest.
"I can smell it," he muttered. "That yellow-haired brat's scent… yes, it's—"
Before he could finish, Boruto appeared, hands in his pockets, his face calm.
"Sasuke-uncle, what are you doing here?"
"Yellow-haired brat!" Sasuke snapped. "Where's Sarada?!"
