"Where is Sarada?"
Boruto looked at Sasuke's slightly angry face, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl upward.
"Sarada is in my room," Boruto said bluntly, showing no hesitation or guilt.
"Ah… Boruto, Sasuke is your future father-in-law, after all. You don't need to provoke him like this right now."
Kushina looked embarrassed. She had planned to make up some excuse to send Sasuke away, but she hadn't expected her grandson to be so straightforward.
"When you marry Sarada and have kids later, you can annoy him as much as you want. But for now, don't push it too far," Kushina whispered softly in Boruto's ear.
Boruto shrugged, smiling. "I didn't mean to piss off Uncle Sasuke. Sarada really is in my room."
Hearing that, Sasuke's face turned pale with rage. "What? Sarada's in your room? You damn blond brat—what did you do to her!?"
"Nothing! We were just talking," Boruto replied, raising his hands innocently.
Seeing the tension, Kushina quickly stepped in. "Sasuke, calm down. They're just talking—nothing's going to happen."
"Besides, my grandson's an outstanding young man. Can't you trust his character?"
Sasuke snorted coldly. "His character? I don't see it."
"Father, why are you here?"
At that moment, Sarada appeared with Sumire Kakei and Hikari, coming down the stairs. She looked at her father, standing in the doorway, utterly confused.
"Sarada, have you been doing alright these past few days?" Sasuke asked, his voice softening slightly.
"What could possibly be wrong with me?" Sarada replied calmly.
"It's good that you're fine. Now come home with me," Sasuke ordered.
"Go home? I don't want to yet," Sarada said firmly.
"Not going back? Do you plan to stay here overnight?" Sasuke's voice carried clear disapproval.
Sarada sighed inwardly.
Before, she and Sumire used to take turns sneaking into Boruto's room to sleep, terrified that Sasuke would kill Boruto if he ever found out.
But now that Boruto had become the strongest boy in the world, there was no need to sneak around anymore.
"Yes," Sarada said confidently. "I'm staying here tonight."
Sasuke's jaw clenched, fury flashing in his eyes, but he tried to maintain control. "Sarada, do you even know what you're saying? Go home. Now."
Sarada didn't back down. She met his gaze head-on. "Father, I'm not a child anymore. I can make my own choices. Stop making a scene. And besides, Boruto really is a good person—you can trust him."
Those words hit Sasuke like a blade to the chest. His daughter was defending that blond brat… just to stay at his house overnight. He nearly coughed up blood from frustration.
"See, Sasuke?" Kushina added, smirking.
"You can't even beat my grandson. Why don't you go home and spend some time with your wife? Don't worry—we'll take good care of Sarada."
That jab stabbed Sasuke's pride right through the heart.
"Uncle Sasuke, don't worry. I'll take good care of Sarada," Boruto added casually—another stab.
"Can't beat him… making a fuss… treating Sarada well…" Sasuke muttered under his breath. Each word cut deeper.
He glared at Kushina and Boruto. "Naruto, I hate you! The entire Uzumaki Clan are devils!"
Then his eyes landed on the unfamiliar girl behind Sarada. "Who's that?"
Hikari froze under his gaze.
"She's my friend," Sarada said, stepping forward to shield her.
"Friend?" Sasuke's eyes narrowed at Boruto. "Most likely just like that Sumire Kakei. You damn blond playboy..."
He looked up at the bright sky and sighed heavily—but then, the sunlight vanished as dark clouds rolled in, covering the village in shadow.
"Looks like it's going to rain," Boruto said calmly, glancing upward.
"Not even leaving me a bit of warmth, huh?" Sasuke growled, staring at the heavens. Then he roared, "Fuck you, damn sky!"
After shouting, he turned and stormed off.
Sarada watched his retreating back, her lips trembling. She ran after him. "I'm sorry, Father! I shouldn't have said those things that hurt you!"
Her voice cracked as she caught up to him. Sasuke turned halfway and looked at her softly. "My little peanut still cares about me after all."
Then, his gaze hardened again as he looked back at Boruto. "Boruto, if you ever hurt Sarada… I swear, even if it costs me everything, I'll break your legs."
With that, Sasuke turned and walked away. The dark clouds slowly parted, and sunlight spilled over Konoha once more.
"The sky cleared up, huh…" Boruto murmured, shaking his head with a strange mix of amusement and guilt.
"Why did you call me here?"
In a quiet forest on the outskirts of Konoha, Madara stood with his arms crossed, eyes locked on Boruto.
"Here, take this."
Boruto handed him an ornate vessel. Inside was a single Rinnegan—the one he'd taken from Madara in a parallel world.
"This is… the Rinnegan?" Madara asked, narrowing his eyes. "Whose is it?"
He paused, then frowned. "Wait—it's not mine, is it?"
"Where did you even get this?"
Boruto smirked. "Remember that Uchiha from the Warring States era? You traveled through time once, right? This Rinnegan came from when you took my eyes back then."
Madara's eyes widened slightly. "So it really is mine," he said.
"But how the hell did you travel through time? That should be impossible! Wouldn't that affect the present?"
"I'll explain later," Boruto replied. "It doesn't affect the present directly, though I might've caused some ripples in the past. Anyway—just take it."
Madara didn't move. "No need."
"No need?" Boruto blinked. "You don't want your own Rinnegan back?"
"I can feel it… my Rinnegan is about to awaken again," Madara said with calm certainty.
"Back then, I only awakened it after fusing with Hashirama's cells near the end of my life. Now that I've already opened it once, doing so again will be much easier."
Boruto nodded slowly. "Fair enough."
He put the vessel away, though in his mind, he was already plotting how best to use that spare pair of eyes.
"Maybe I should just give it to Dad," Boruto murmured.
