Nighttime — Hokage Building
After his battle with Sasuke, Naruto slowly walked back toward his office. His hand pressed against his forehead, his expression a mix of fatigue and worry.
"There are still so many things to handle... the Chunin Exams, paperwork, endless reports..."
He sighed. "Guess I'll be staying up all night again."
"Naruto, you're back."
Kakashi's calm voice came from the side, pulling him from his thoughts. Naruto looked up to see both Kakashi and Shikamaru waiting for him.
"Ah—sorry, Kakashi-sensei, Shikamaru," Naruto said sheepishly, scratching his head.
"It's fine, Naruto. Everyone needs to unwind sometimes," Kakashi said with his familiar warm smile.
Naruto gave a small nod. "Yeah... you're right."
But Shikamaru's tone turned serious.
"NARUTO, there's something important I need to report. While you and Sasuke were away, Might Guy-sensei was captured—by the Masked Man."
"What?!" Naruto's face went pale. "Guy-sensei was captured by that Masked Man?"
His eyes darted to Kakashi, searching for confirmation.
Kakashi nodded gravely. "Yeah. We don't know his full intentions yet, but based on Shikamaru's analysis... it looks like he's trying to reattach Guy's leg."
"Reattach... Guy-sensei's leg?" Naruto murmured, stunned.
Sasuke's Residence — Later That Night
Sasuke opened the door quietly and stepped inside.
Sakura was sitting on the sofa, her eyes immediately lighting up when she heard the door open. She stood quickly, her face soft and welcoming.
"Welcome home, Sasuke," she said, her cheeks tinged with pink and her eyes full of warmth.
"Yeah... I'm back, Sakura," Sasuke replied gently.
"Where's Sarada?" he asked.
"She's already asleep," Sakura answered softly.
"Asleep, huh?" Sasuke paused, deep in thought. Should I tell her about Sarada's Sharingan? No… not yet. I'll bring it up later.
"Sasuke, are you hungry? I'll go make you something to eat," Sakura offered sweetly.
"Alright," Sasuke replied with a quiet hum.
"Then take a bath first. I already set out your clothes," she said, smiling shyly.
Soon after, the dining table was filled with steaming dishes.
Sasuke, freshly washed, sat across from Sakura. The atmosphere between them felt calm yet charged with subtle emotion.
Sasuke ate quietly while Sakura fidgeted, lowering her gaze and clutching the hem of her sleeve. Every now and then, she'd glance at him with a faint blush.
Noticing her flustered look, Sasuke set down his chopsticks.
"I'm done," he said plainly and stood up.
"O-okay," Sakura stammered softly, also standing.
She hesitated for a moment, then gently took hold of the corner of his sleeve and led him toward their bedroom.
As the lights dimmed, the house fell silent.
Meanwhile — Boruto's Room
Boruto lay on his bed with Sarada resting against him.
"Sarada, your dad just got back. If he finds out you're here with me, won't he activate his Susanoo and slice me in half?" Boruto whispered nervously.
Sarada smirked. "Relax. I left a Shadow Clone at home. Dad won't notice a thing. Besides, Krab's here—it's fine."
"By the way, Boruto!" she suddenly said excitedly. "Konohamaru-sensei signed us up for the Chunin Exams! We're going to become Chunin soon!"
"Chunin Exams, huh..." Boruto muttered, deep in thought.
A Few Days Later — Secret Base, Land of Fire
Inside a dimly lit laboratory, Sasuke's clone body floated in a large tank of fluid. The cultivation process was complete.
Boruto carefully integrated the Reincarnation Spirit Orb into the clone's chest, then transferred control to the clone and moved it into another room.
Waiting there were Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato, and several others—revived but incomplete.
"It's time," came Menma's voice, calm and commanding.
"We won't revive Nagato or the Akatsuki members just yet. That'll come later," Menma continued, glancing at each of them.
Nagato and the others nodded in understanding.
Boruto took out a sealed container holding Sasuke's Rinnegan.
He guided the clone Sasuke to remove his own left eye and replace it with the Rinnegan.
Then, forming a series of hand signs, the clone activated the jutsu.
"Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique!"
A surge of divine energy filled the air. The oppressive aura of life and death intertwined, flooding the chamber.
Green streams of chakra burst out from the clone Sasuke's body and flowed into the others.
Light enveloped their forms—cracked skin mended, color returned to their flesh, heartbeats reignited.
Life had returned.
But the clone Sasuke's body withered rapidly. His hair turned white, his skin pale, as though all his vitality had been consumed.
"Fugaku... Itachi... Shisui... your eyes—!" Mikoto gasped, watching as Fugaku's eyes disintegrated into dust, leaving only dark voids behind.
"My eyes... disappeared?" Fugaku muttered.
"The Mangekyo vanished, but the regular Sharingan remains," Boruto observed, noting Mikoto's still-active eyes.
"I've already prepared replacements for all of you," Kabuto said, stepping forward. He held four containers marked with their names.
"These are the eyes of your clones," he explained. "They might not match the originals, but they'll restore some of your power."
Madara took one without hesitation. "Clone eyes, huh..."
He inserted them himself and slowly opened his lids. The Mangekyo pattern flickered faintly in his gaze.
"Hmph... only the Mangekyo? Pity," Madara said flatly, though a faint smirk tugged at his lips.
Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku followed suit—each awakening their Three-Tomoe Sharingan, though none reached the Mangekyo level.
"Only the Three-Tomoe?" Itachi said quietly. "Seems it'll take time to evolve again."
Kabuto adjusted his glasses. "Once you transplant Hashirama Cells, your evolution rate should increase drastically."
Kushina suddenly stepped forward, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Mr. Menma... can we return to Konoha now? Without hiding this time?"
"Yes," Boruto said after a pause. "You're truly alive again. You don't need to hide anymore."
"That's wonderful!" Kushina exclaimed, tears of joy in her eyes. "I can finally hug Naruto—hug my grandson and granddaughter!"
Minato smiled warmly beside her. "Yeah... it's been far too long."
Mikoto clasped Fugaku's hands. "We can finally meet our granddaughter for real," she said softly.
"Madara!" Hashirama grinned, slapping his old rival on the shoulder. "We need to share a drink when this is all over!"
Madara chuckled lightly. "Yeah... Hashirama, we do."
Jiraiya looked up at the glowing ceiling, his expression calm and nostalgic.
"Naruto... we'll see each other soon," he said quietly.
And Itachi, standing at the edge of the room, whispered,
"Sasuke... when we meet again—please forgive me for everything."
