From the stands, waves of support for Boruto Uzumaki rose and fell, filling the massive coliseum.
On the other side, although Sumire Kakei had fewer supporters, her friends still cheered their hearts out for her.
"Sumire! You can do it!" Sarada shouted from the entrance, cupping her hands around her mouth.
In the audience, Himawari tugged on Hinata's sleeve. "Mom, Big Brother and Sumire-sis are fighting. Who should I cheer for?"
Hinata smiled gently, brushing her daughter's hair. "Your brother already has plenty of people cheering for him. Let's support Sumire instead, okay?"
Himawari nodded, clasping her hands together. "Go, Sumire-sis," she whispered softly.
Under thousands of watchful eyes, the battle between Boruto Uzumaki and Sumire Kakei officially began.
Boruto extended his hand, golden chakra swirling into his palm before solidifying into a radiant golden longsword—a transformed version of the Adamantine Sealing Chains, gleaming with dazzling light.
Across from him, Sumire drew a kunai that instantly became coated in flowing blue water. It extended and hardened, forming a sleek ice-blue water blade.
The two locked eyes.
Then—like lightning—they moved.
Boruto lunged first, his golden sword slicing forward in a flash.
But Sumire's movements were light and fluid, her body twisting just enough to dodge the blow.
With a graceful spin, she countered—her water blade arcing beautifully through the air toward Boruto's flank.
Boruto leaned aside, his blade flicking backward toward her in the same instant.
Sumire reacted instantly, flipping twice in midair before landing lightly on her feet, widening the distance between them.
Their blades clashed again and again, golden and blue lights weaving together in a breathtaking dance.
The crowd's cheers reached a fever pitch, completely absorbed in the electrifying duel before them.
Sumire stabbed her water blade into the ground. In an instant, the entire floor became covered in a thin, glistening layer of water.
As she stepped onto it, her movements became faster—almost weightless.
However, no matter how much her speed increased, Boruto kept up effortlessly, his sharp eyes tracking every motion.
Sumire swung her blade in a swift horizontal strike, but Boruto met it calmly, blocking with a single precise motion.
Using the recoil, Sumire slid backward across the slick water, creating space between them.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
She flashed through hand signs, and a massive dragon of swirling water rose from the floor, roaring as it charged toward Boruto.
"She's incredible!" Kurotsuchi exclaimed in awe.
"The Water Dragon Bullet Technique is a B-rank jutsu," Chōjūrō said, nodding in admiration. "For her to perform it at that age—her talent is extraordinary."
Darui crossed his arms. "A promising seedling indeed. It's rare to see such skill in this era of peace."
Facing the incoming water dragon, Boruto simply stepped forward and lifted his foot slightly.
"Spiraling Defense!"
Blue-white chakra erupted around him, rapidly spinning into a rotating chakra barrier—a cross between the Rasengan and the Hyuga Clan's Rotation.
When the roaring dragon slammed into the spinning force field, it shattered instantly, exploding into fine mist that scattered across the arena.
Sumire's eyes narrowed, analyzing the technique.
"So this is like the Hyuga's Rotation… but without spinning the body. His chakra control is insane."
Up in the stands, Tobirama folded his arms, his voice tinged with reluctant respect. "At that age, to modify Rotation like that... The boy's a prodigy—though his attitude still irritates me."
Boruto didn't let the chakra barrier fade. Instead, the Spiraling Defense continued rotating as he advanced, grinding spiral marks into the arena floor like a moving vortex.
"It's a technique I created myself," Boruto explained, his tone confident. "Combining Rasengan and Rotation gives it both offensive and defensive power."
"It's like walking around with a Great Ball Rasengan. The only downside—it eats through chakra fast. But for me now, my recovery speed's even faster than the drain!"
He stepped forward, the swirling force closing the distance fast.
Sumire exhaled deeply, hands flashing through more seals.
"Water Release: Great Water Gun Technique!"
A massive cannon of condensed, high-pressure water formed before her, spinning violently before firing a jet stream straight at Boruto.
The two forces collided—spinning chakra and spiraling water—creating a roaring shockwave that drenched the arena in mist.
When the fog cleared, Boruto's Spiraling Defense still spun strong, completely unbroken.
"Shinki," Yodo said from the stands, eyes gleaming, "the Hokage's son's jutsu is incredible! That defense might be on par with your Iron Sand!"
Shinki smirked. "The stronger he is, the more I want to fight him."
Down below, Sumire gritted her teeth. "So even this can't break through… Then I'll have to use that move."
"Summoning Jutsu!"
With a burst of smoke, Nue appeared beside her.
Under Sumire's command, Nue wrapped its tail around her leg, gently biting down as its chakra flowed into her.
Nue could absorb chakra—but it could also return it, feeding its master with energy from within.
Born from Kaguya's secret arts, Nue's true power wasn't in destruction—but in storing immense chakra reserves.
Tobirama frowned. "She's really using that jutsu? Even with Nue's help, it'll put enormous strain on her body."
Sumire finished her hand seals. The arena floor rippled violently, as if alive.
Layers of water chakra spread outward, and a deep whirlpool began to form.
From its center, a massive dragon of dark blue water erupted, its scales gleaming with furious energy.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Biting Explosion!"
This dragon was nothing like the earlier one—it was larger, darker, more ferocious.
Streams of rotating water coiled along its body like drills as it roared toward the heavens before diving straight down toward Boruto's spinning chakra barrier.
The crowd held its breath as the two forces collided—a raging dragon of water versus a spiraling storm of chakra.
The ground shook violently. The air exploded with power.
And the Water Dragon Bite crashed down in a blinding surge of blue.
