Chapter 135 - Chapter 134: The Sand Village Sends Another Bride

"Is that the Water Release Ninjutsu Tobirama taught? Let's see just how powerful it really is," Boruto said as he stared up at the massive, deep-blue water dragon descending from above.

He lifted one hand slowly, and the rotation of his Spiraling Defense intensified.

Sparks crackled around the whirling blue barrier — a strange phenomenon caused by chakra friction against the air at extreme speed.

Boom!

The giant water dragon collided head-on with Boruto's Spiraling Defense. Water and smoke exploded outward in a blinding flash as the entire arena trembled violently.

The stone platform beneath them cracked instantly, spiderweb fissures spreading in every direction.

The shockwave blasted through the stands, and Rock Lee's signature bowl-cut whipped wildly in the air. He had to crouch and cover his hair with both hands just to keep it in place.

"So strong! That purple-haired girl can actually use such a powerful Ninjutsu!"

"Yeah! But what about Young Master Boruto? Is he okay?"

"Don't worry," another replied confidently. "Hokage-sama's here. Nothing will happen to his son."

Down in the VIP area, the Kage exchanged stunned looks.

"How is that possible? A Genin performing that level of Water Release?" Chōjūrō stood up in disbelief.

Darui nodded, his brow furrowed. "I can feel the intensity of that jutsu. Hard to believe Sumire Kakei's still a Genin."

Kurotsuchi turned toward Naruto. "Naruto, aren't you even a little worried about your son?"

Naruto just smirked confidently. "Nah, he'll be fine. My son's a genius."

Backstage, the other contestants watched, speechless.

"Sumire's gotten so strong… she's totally left us behind," Inojin sighed.

"Tch, that's because all you ever do is play video games," Chocho said, munching on a bag of chips. "Class Rep's been training nonstop."

"Excuse me, Chocho? You eat chips every day — I haven't exactly seen you train either," Inojin shot back.

"Inojin," Shikadai said lazily, "in Chocho's family, eating is training."

Inojin blinked. "Wait… really?"

Shikadai shook his head. "You've been part of the Ino–Shika–Chō trio this long and still don't get it? We've graduated now — it's time we start training for real. We can't let Boruto and the others keep getting ahead of us."

Sarada watched quietly. "Sumire… Boruto's seeing just how hard you've worked."

When the mist finally cleared, Boruto stood tall at the center of a spiral-shaped crater — completely unharmed.

Sumire, meanwhile, was still frozen in her last hand-signing pose, with Nue lying flat beside her, drained of chakra.

"You're really strong, Boruto," she said weakly before her vision blurred. The exhaustion hit her all at once, and she began to collapse.

Boruto appeared behind her in a flash, catching her before she hit the ground.

"Hey, you okay, Sumire?" he asked softly.

"I'm fine… just used too much chakra," she murmured, her voice faint.

"You didn't need to push yourself so hard," Boruto said, steadying her.

"I just wanted to prove I'm worthy of you, Boruto…" she whispered.

Boruto smiled gently. "You've already proven yourself."

Sumire's purple eyes softened, full of quiet emotion.

"Winner — Konoha's Boruto Uzumaki!" Rock Lee declared.

The arena erupted with cheers once again.

Himawari, however, looked a little conflicted. "Mom… even though Big Brother won, I feel bad that Sister Sumire lost."

Hinata smiled kindly. "You really like Sumire, don't you, Himawari?"

Himawari nodded. "Mm-hmm."

After the match, Boruto helped Sumire to her feet and guided her backstage.

Kurotsuchi smirked from the Kage box. "Naruto, your son and that purple-haired girl seem close. Could she be your future daughter-in-law?"

"Uh…" Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly, unsure how to respond.

Ino leaned toward Sakura with a teasing grin. "Hey, isn't Boruto dating your daughter? Why's he looking so cozy with Sumire, huh?"

Sakura smiled politely, though her eyes flickered with something complicated. "Sumire's just Sarada's classmate. They're probably just friends. We shouldn't read too much into what kids do."

Tobirama, watching from above, let out a cold snort. "Hmph. Young love… pointless distractions."

Rock Lee stepped forward once the noise died down. "The arena's been damaged and requires repair. The next match will begin in fifteen minutes!"

Several shinobi immediately jumped down to fix the cracked flooring. Within minutes, the ground looked brand new again.

"Next match — Konoha's Nara Shikadai versus the Hidden Sand Village's Yodo!" Rock Lee announced.

Ino nudged Temari with a grin. "Hey, your kid's up next, and his opponent's from your home village. Feeling nostalgic yet?"

Temari slammed a fist into her palm and stood up. "Shikadai! If you lose, I'm confiscating your game console! You better win!"

Sakura and Ino exchanged awkward smiles.

Up in the VIP box, Shikamaru sighed. "Try not to make it too embarrassing, son."

Boruto watched the screen showing the two opponents entering the stage and chuckled. "So… is the Sand Village sending another bride to Konoha?"

Sarada blinked. "Sending a bride? You mean Yodo's gonna be Shikadai's future wife?"

Boruto shrugged, grinning. "Who knows?"

The battle began.

Shikadai launched his Shadow Imitation Technique, but Yodo's Taijutsu was sharp and fast — he couldn't catch her at all.

She threw back her hood, revealing long beige hair that shimmered under the lights. Then she swung it in a circle, generating sonic waves that blasted through the air, forcing Shikadai on the defensive.

Despite the chaos, Shikadai analyzed her movements carefully, noticing subtle patterns in her rhythm.

Finally, he exploited a weakness in her attack timing and managed to restrain her shadow, clinching a narrow victory.

Boruto leaned back, smirking. "Yodo looks like a female version of Deidara. Wonder what the real Deidara would think if he saw her."

"Winner — Konoha's Nara Shikadai!" Rock Lee announced.

The audience roared again.

"Next match — Konoha's Uchiha Sarada versus Konoha's Wasabi Izuno!"

Wasabi groaned. "Ah, seriously? I had to run into Sarada? Just my luck."

The match started — and ended — almost immediately.

Sarada activated her Three-Tomoe Sharingan, her crimson eyes flashing. Wasabi froze in place, caught in a powerful genjutsu, and collapsed to the ground.

The entire stadium went silent for a beat.

"…That was fast," someone whispered. "They didn't even fight."
