Chapter 125 - Chapter 124: Itsuki’s Team Members

The next morning, Karin knocked on Itsuki's door bright and early to wake him up.

Ever since Karin and her mother had moved to Konoha, they had been living in Itsuki's villa.

At the moment, there was one man and four women under the same roof.

"Why are you up so early? There's still time…" Itsuki rubbed his sleepy eyes.

After pulling his stunt against Kusagakure yesterday, he had gone back home and practiced Shinra Tensei late into the night.

He hadn't slept much, and he was still tired.

"Come on! After breakfast, Lady Tsunade said she's bringing another teammate over. We have to meet them and get used to each other first!"

Karin latched onto Itsuki's arm, rubbing her head against it affectionately.

She had already heard that Tsunade sent Itsuki to deal with Kusagakure.

Even Anko had bragged in the group chat that Itsuki was the one who cast illusions on the Grass shinobi and drugged the cattle.

Itsuki had saved her life, but what moved her even more was how far he went just to avenge her and her mother.

If she weren't still so young, Karin would have wanted to marry him on the spot.

"The third teammate, huh?" Itsuki perked up a little.

Tsunade had been keeping the identity of the last member a mystery.

He had a guess, but he didn't dare be too certain.

"Lady Tsunade said we'll be a fixed team from now on, with her as our captain." Karin beamed, pressing closer to him.

"That way I'll get to spend more time with you, and when you're in danger, I can stand in front of you."

Itsuki chuckled, patting her head. "I'm not in a situation where I need your protection. If things ever get dangerous, just taking care of yourself will help me plenty."

Then he frowned. "But what about the ANBU? Is my aunt pulling me out? She hasn't mentioned this."

Of course, once Tsunade made a decision, nobody—including the Third Hokage—could change it.

"Lady Tsunade said staying in ANBU too long could darken your personality. She wants you to always live under the sun." Karin explained softly.

Itsuki smirked. "Funny. Why do I feel like you're closer to my aunt than I am? She always relays things to me through you."

Karin puffed her cheeks, embarrassed. "No! I just like pestering Lady Tsunade to ask about you. She probably got annoyed and told me more than she meant to. I couldn't help but share it before she did."

Then, with conviction, she added, "In this world, Itsuki-kun, you and I are the closest. No one else can compare—not even my mother!"

By the time she finished, they had arrived at the dining room.

Inside, Tsunade and Kana were already serving breakfast with Shizune helping.

Since moving in, Kana had taken over the villa's housework.

She didn't want to live as a shinobi anymore. Managing the home was her way of contributing.

"I told you, you can't just keep letting this daughter cling to him like that!" Tsunade raised her brows at Kana.

But Kana only smiled faintly. "Lord Itsuki gave us a new life. I'm too old to be of much use anymore. Let Karin repay him on my behalf."

"What's this talk about repayment?" Itsuki waved dismissively, dropping into a chair beside Tsunade.

"I just did what I could. And Aunt Kana, I've told you—just call me by my name. You're the elder here, we're family."

He snatched a fried dough stick right out of Tsunade's hand and dipped it into soy milk.

After weeks of eating Konaha based food, Itsuki had started to miss the flavors of Earth cooking.

Luckily, Kana had a natural talent for cooking, so after he taught her a few dishes, she mastered them quickly.

Soy milk, fried dough sticks, soup dumplings, crystal dumplings…

Earth food really was unbeatable.

Itsuki closed his eyes in bliss, giving Kana a big thumbs up. "Perfect!"

Even a seasoned chef from Earth would have been embarrassed to lose to her cooking.

Tsunade knocked him on the head playfully and said to Kana, "He's right. You're my sister in this family now. Don't be so modest."

Kana's eyes softened with gratitude, though she kept quiet.

This life was something she had never dared to dream of, and she didn't want to ruin it by overreaching.

"Oh, Aunt," Itsuki said suddenly, turning to Tsunade. "I haven't visited Yakumo for a while. How's she doing?"

"Why don't you go see her yourself?" Tsunade deflected, hiding a small smile.

Shizune answered for her. "Yakumo's health is just about as good as any ordinary person now. She hasn't seen you in a while, though, and keeps asking about you."

"So… she can go out on missions?" Itsuki pressed.

"Alright, alright, stop testing me." Tsunade pinched his cheek. "You guessed it already, didn't you? I wanted it to be a surprise!"

Itsuki grinned. "Because I always thought Yakumo was the most suitable."

Karin tilted her head in confusion. "What are you two talking about?"

Shizune covered her mouth with a laugh. "What she means is, Itsuki's new teammate is Kurama Yakumo. I told you about her before."

"Oh! I remember now!" Karin's eyes lit up.

She had heard about Yakumo from Kurenai's broadcast in the group chat, but since she'd only just come to Konoha, she hadn't met her yet.

Meanwhile, the Konoha girls had all visited Yakumo in their own ways, and they liked her.

According to Shikamaru, Yakumo was passive, but she was kind and dependable.

"Alright then, no more secrets."

Tsunade wiped her mouth. "Yakumo's health now allows her to fight at a chunin level without strain, so she can finally be registered as a genin. Her greatest wish is to live as a shinobi. If she's denied that, she'll never truly recover."

"With you by her side, I can rest easy. If problems come up, you'll deal with them."

Itsuki nodded seriously.

But Tsunade added, "Which is why, before that, you need to learn medical ninjutsu from me—so you can perform emergency treatment if needed."

"…Huh?" Itsuki froze, staring in disbelief. "You're not telling me to master medical ninjutsu before the Chunin Exams, right?"

It was barely 7 a.m. The written exam started at 9. Even if he hurried, there were less than two hours left.

"Of course not." Tsunade smiled.

Itsuki let out a breath of relief—until she dropped a heavy thud on the table.

"I just want you to memorize this medical text and learn the Mystical Palm Technique."

Itsuki's jaw dropped. A ten-centimeter-thick book of medical theory sat before him.

"This… this isn't human speech…" he muttered, horrified.
