"This is impossible! Absolutely impossible!! How did you do it? How could you possibly defeat me? I am an sage!"
In the back mountains of Konoha, Princess Tagori, one of the three great sages of Ryuchi Cave, had been completely subdued by Itsuki. Yet she still refused to accept this reality.
As the strongest among the three great sages—second only to the White Snake Sage—her power was enough to terrify anyone.
Normally, Ryuchi Cave did not interfere with human affairs. But Danzo had bribed them heavily, offering over 5,000 people from two Fire Country villages as food.
Tagori had wanted to wander the outside world anyway, so she accepted the deal.
Before she came, no one in Ryuchi Cave had taken Itsuki seriously.
Even if he had awakened Wood Release, so what? Did he think he was the reincarnation of Hashirama Senju?
But now, Princess Tagori knew the truth. At only thirteen, Itsuki's strength was already just a step behind Hashirama's prime.
And unlike Hashirama, who had one overwhelming specialty, Itsuki had multiple techniques—Wood Release, sealing, Sharingan, senjutsu—each of them deadly in its own right.
"Sages are still living beings! Don't think too highly of yourself." Itsuki looked at her coldly and pressed several more sealing marks onto her.
"Hahaha! Fine, I'll admit defeat this time!" Tagori suddenly calmed, baring her sharp teeth with a sneer. "But it was only because I was careless. It doesn't mean you're truly stronger than me.
You burned so much chakra to seal me. Do you think you can really hold me here? Ryuchi Cave isn't as simple as you think. Next time we meet, I will settle this account with you! Senju Itsuki—I'll remember you!"
Itsuki frowned, but before he could act, her figure vanished into thin air.
"Reverse summoning?" Itsuki muttered in surprise.
Even with her chakra completely sealed, she had managed to call Ryuchi Cave for help and teleport back. Truly, Ryuchi Cave had depths he still didn't fully understand.
But even if she held resentment, it was directed at him alone. Itsuki didn't care.
His power would only continue to grow. The next time they crossed paths, defeating her would be even easier.
Turning, Itsuki looked toward where Danzo had been.
As expected, when the tide of battle turned, Danzo had already fled with only three guards in tow.
Most of the Root members he brought were already dead, and the dozen or so survivors were mortally wounded.
Danzo abandoned them without hesitation.
But before they could retreat, they were wiped out by Tagori's White Stimulation Technique.
"Run, Danzo. Run as far as you can. That just makes it easier for me to find your nest," Itsuki muttered darkly.
To pull weeds, you had to destroy the roots. Not every Root shinobi needed to die, but Danzo's diehard loyalists had to be eliminated.
Earlier, Itsuki had used a giant wooden construct as a distraction. In truth, with his current power, he no longer needed such methods to deal with Danzo.
At the same time, while fighting, Itsuki had planted seeds onto Danzo and his guards.
Like chakra trackers, they worked like a living GPS. No matter the distance, he could sense their exact location.
And as Danzo fled, one of Itsuki's Wood Clones was already in pursuit.
As for the real body, attacking personally was unwise. That would only give the village elders an excuse to criticize him.
"Itsuki!" Kana rushed toward him, ignoring Mito and Kushina.
Her face was full of relief and tears as she threw her arms around him.
"I'm so sorry. When I realized something was wrong, I should have taken my own life. Because I hesitated, I was controlled and used against you. If something had happened to you because of me, I would never forgive myself!"
If Itsuki had truly died because of her, she wouldn't have had the face to live another day.
"Aunt Kana, you're overthinking it. This time, I'm the one who dragged you into danger." Itsuki smiled faintly and patted her shoulder. "The important thing is, everyone's fine now. Just be careful in the future."
Though, in truth, he doubted there would be a "next time."
Danzo was one of the few with both the ruthlessness and the means to strike directly into Itsuki's home.
With him gone, few others could pose the same kind of threat.
Itsuki's words and reassurance calmed Kana after a long while. Even Mito and Kushina joined in to persuade her.
"At the end of that fight, didn't the enemy try to trap you in a genjutsu?" Mito asked.
Itsuki nodded. With no hesitation, he revealed his Three Tomoe Sharingan.
With his strength now public, he no longer feared being targeted.
Still… the Three Tomoe alone wouldn't be enough. He needed to reach the Mangekyo.
With his Wood Release vitality and sage arts, he might even overcome the usual Mangekyo side effects.
Even if he couldn't erase them entirely, he could endure them.
"The Sharingan…" Mito studied his eyes with surprise. "Truly remarkable. You carry the power of three great clans—the Senju, the Uchiha, and the Uzumaki. I cannot imagine how far you'll go in the future."
Though Itsuki had used the Sharingan earlier to break illusions cast on them, there had been no chance for questions in the heat of battle.
Now, Mito couldn't help her curiosity.
"I can sense this Sharingan was awakened naturally. It isn't transplanted. That means you truly carry Uchiha blood. Could it be that the Senju and Uchiha once married into each other?"
If Hashirama knew this, he'd probably laugh and cry tears of joy. If Tobirama knew… best not to imagine.
"My mother was from the Uchiha clan. But I lost both my parents when I was very young, so I never knew my heritage. Only after I awakened Wood Release did the Third Hokage confirm it through investigation." Itsuki spoke casually but glanced sideways at Kushina.
It seemed his parents' deaths might have been tied to the Nine-Tails attack.
Still, he had come into this world through strange circumstances. His supposed "background" mattered little.
Wood Release, Sharingan, Diamond Seals—all of it might simply be settings arranged by the [Fabrication System].
"What a poor child," Mito whispered, gently patting Itsuki's head.
"Lady Mito…" Kushina fidgeted, looking anxious. She wanted to speak but held back.
"Go," Mito told her softly. "But remember… we are all dead."
"I know. Thank you, Lady Mito!" Kushina's eyes lit up with hope. She immediately turned to leave.
But Itsuki stopped her.
"There's something you should see first."
He hesitated a moment, then activated his Sharingan. Instead of words, he poured memories into her mind through genjutsu.
He didn't exclude Mito or Kana either—both saw everything too.
They witnessed Naruto's childhood.
His loneliness, the cold stares of villagers, the years of neglect. The way he sought desperately for scraps of acknowledgment.
The moment Naruto learned he and Itsuki were distant relatives, he clung to that fragile connection with all his might, chasing every hint that he had family.
Seeing this, Mito and Kana felt their hearts twist with sorrow.
As for Kushina—her composure shattered.
She broke down in tears, her heart torn apart by the sight of her only son's suffering.
