Chapter 136 - Chapter 135: My Contract Is Special — Even Demons Can Become Light

After handing the scene over to the City Monster Hunter Team, Song Jie and Lingling went their separate ways.

When Song Jie finally returned home, he immediately summoned Li Rui.

"Thank you," Li Rui said sincerely.

Song Jie smiled. "You're my Summoned Beast now, which means you're my person. No need for formalities."

Li Rui nodded. She really liked his direct personality.

"How are you feeling now?" he asked.

"The Demonification bloodline drained all my blood energy. I'm still weak and need some time to recover," Li Rui replied with a faint smile.

Song Jie noticed her pale face and asked, "Do you need to drink blood to recover?"

Li Rui hesitated, then nodded. "Now that I can control my Demonification bloodline, I don't need it often. Once a month is enough."

"Can it be anyone's blood?"

"Yes."

"Then you can use mine from now on," Song Jie said without hesitation. "You're my Summoned Beast—it's safer that way."

Li Rui's eyes softened as she nodded.

"After using your Demonification ability, what level can you reach?" Song Jie asked curiously.

Li Rui thought for a moment. "After fusing with the Demonification bloodline, even High-Level Mages wouldn't have time to cast Advanced magic in front of me."

She hesitated briefly before continuing, "If…"

She trailed off, unsure what to call him—master? That sounded too formal. Just "you"? That felt too distant.

Seeing her dilemma, Song Jie chuckled. "Just call me Song Jie. We don't need to be so formal."

Li Rui smiled faintly and nodded. Then she suddenly remembered something.

"You're Song Jie of the Summoning Element?"

"That's me," he said with a grin.

Li Rui's eyes widened slightly. She had heard his name before—students at the Pearl Institute Main Campus often mentioned him.

"You've heard of me?" Song Jie asked.

Li Rui smiled again. "I've heard a few things."

She hadn't expected fate to twist like this—she had become the Summoned Beast of the Main Campus's strongest newcomer.

"Continue," Song Jie urged.

Li Rui nodded. "If your Summoning Element advances to the Advanced Level, the suppression on my strength will lift as well. I'll be able to fight anything below the Super Level."

Song Jie blinked. He hadn't realized that by contracting her in her weakened state, he had also restricted her power.

That meant if he advanced his Summoning Element, she would regain her true strength.

"However," Li Rui added, "I haven't fully fused with the Demonification bloodline yet, so I can only use one-third of my strength."

"Is there any danger in completing the fusion?"

Li Rui shook her head. "I'm not sure yet. But I'll try to control it. I won't let the Demonification bloodline take over again."

"If you need help, tell me," Song Jie said firmly.

Li Rui nodded gratefully.

"Oh, by the way, I have good news," Song Jie said with a smile.

"What good news?" she asked.

"This contract of ours is special—you can live freely in the human world again," Song Jie said.

"Huh?" Li Rui looked stunned. Normally, a Summoned Beast's presence consumed its summoner's magic energy.

And since Song Jie's Summoning Element was likely only at the Intermediate Level, he shouldn't be able to sustain her for long, let alone allow her to live normally outside the Dimensional Space.

But Song Jie had already discovered something unusual.

When he summoned Li Rui earlier, his magic energy hadn't decreased at all—not even slightly!

It meant summoning Li Rui didn't consume his magic energy.

"You don't need to stay in the Dimensional Space anymore," Song Jie said. "You can live like a normal person again."

"Really?" Li Rui asked in disbelief.

"Really," Song Jie said with a confident smile. "But when I go on training, I'll bring you with me."

"Okay!" she said happily. As his Summoned Beast, it was only natural.

"Still," Song Jie said, "you should ask your teacher for leave. In your current state, attending class might be difficult."

Li Rui nodded in agreement.

"Is magic energy useful to your recovery?" Song Jie asked.

"A little," she admitted.

"Then sit down. I'll help you recover with my magic energy."

Li Rui smiled softly and sat on the sofa, refining the magic energy Song Jie transferred to her.

At the same time, Song Jie quietly activated Contract Plunder.

Soon—

He obtained a new skill: Demonification!

Excitement surged in Song Jie's chest, though he quickly suppressed it. Li Rui still needed his help to recover.

By dawn, Li Rui's complexion had improved slightly. Song Jie yawned.

"Let's go try the Demonification ability," he said with anticipation, heading to the rooftop.

He looked down at the city below. Countless buildings still glowed with faint lights.

Across from his apartment complex was the residential area where Ding Yao lived.

Closing his eyes, Song Jie activated the Demonification ability.

In an instant, his body transformed—his back muscles tensed as if wings were about to burst forth.

His clothes tore apart as his body expanded, muscles rippling beneath the skin.

When he looked down, eight perfectly defined abs reflected the moonlight—his physique radiating raw power.

He reached up and felt two sharp horns sprouting from his head—classic demonic features.

His eyes turned blood-red, and an ominous aura rippled from him like waves of dark energy.

Yet, instead of feeling corrupted, he felt strength—boundless strength coursing through his veins.

"Angels aren't the only ones who represent light," he murmured. "Maybe demons can too."

After all, he possessed the Light Element himself. His demon form wasn't afraid of light—it could even become one with it!

His vision sharpened. He could see clearly across entire blocks.

Then his gaze drifted—unintentionally—toward Ding Yumian's apartment.

He was about to look away when he noticed that their bathroom window was slightly open.

Inside, Huang Xingli seemed to be taking a bath…

"..."

Song Jie froze. Should he… tell them? But how could he explain how he knew?

"Forget it," he muttered helplessly. "I'll just go close it myself."

At that moment, Huang Xingli was enjoying the bath when the bathroom door suddenly opened.

"Yao! Come take a bath too! The hot water feels amazing tonight," she called out cheerfully.

Ding Yumian nodded. They had bought this large bathtub together—it was easily big enough for two.

She undressed and was just about to step in when she suddenly felt something strange.

Her gaze turned upward—toward the open bathroom window.

Then—

Bang!

The window slammed shut by itself.
