"Hm?" Windbery squinted his eyes as he watched the figure in front of him with slight caution.
It was Enzo… but not quite.
He was now clad on a set of white bone armor that covered him from head to toe. The armor was clean and solid with mobility hubs centered around its joints. At first glance, it looked like an echo, as no ordinary smith could make such.
However, even amongst armor, this was special.
[Skeleton Bioarmor]
[Rank: Withered]
[Tier: King]
[Description: Bones within, bones without. The skeleton bioarmor is a self-regenerating armor set with incredible durability and weight. It is an extension of the wielder's strength and is capable of absorbing hits at a rapid rate.]
In the last minutes of Enzo's fight with the sky monitor, something strange had happened. And it wasn't until he killed the thing that he realized.
[You have slain a Skeleton King]
Apparently, during his fight with Victoria, the Skeleton King had been so dominated that he could think of only one thing, and that was escape.
Using his innate ability, he moved his consciousness from the lanky skeleton's body and into the sky monitor, hoping to take flight and leave the death zone.
Unfortunately, he did so just as Enzo's drill came cracking down.
This echo was the result of Enzo killing the Skeleton King.
"Hmp!!" Dandan from the side sneered, and with his horns released two highly condensed beams of light, breaking through the air and heading directly toward Enzo.
-bing!!!
The beams instantly struck Enzo in his center mass, but they didn't succeed in moving him in the slightest, he stood there unscathed.
This immediately caused Dandan to frown as blood welled up in his eyes, allowing him to view Enzo under a new light.
"Shit, did he kill the Skeleton King?" Dandan's frown deepened even more.
What Enzo had now was very similar material to what the Skeleton King was made from. That thing was impervious to the sentient blood's infection and was tagged as an extremely dangerous material to the infected.
It was prohibited to bring the real deal anywhere near the sentient blood, and what Kara had given them previously was just a knockoff.
"I… Thane didn't say." Kara was confused also, but after a while, she became cold.
"Does that mean?" She looked panicked as an innate feeling of danger welled up inside her.
"We have to kill him fast, before he gets any ideas!!" Kara barked as she pulled out her sword and lunged at Enzo in an instant.
"Hmp!! Come get some." Enzo mocked, tightening his fist and striking out at her.
The armor not only increased his general strength, it also heightened his senses. It felt like a hyper-focus chamber as he watched a slowed-down Kara reach him.
"Huuuu." In an instant, Kara felt the air leave her lungs, and a sharp pain shot through her abdomen.
Enzo had tanked her sword attack with full force and directly punched through her gut. This wasn't the end, though, as simultaneously Dandan appeared behind and thrusted himself at Enzo.
In as little as a few seconds, all hell broke loose.
All three of them ganged up on Enzo once again, but this time, it didn't look like a young man being beaten by a group much more powerful than himself.
Rather, it now looked like three unarmed men fighting against an indestructible enemy.
The whole dynamic had shifted.
20 minutes in.
Enzo grabbed Windbery by the neck and shoved his dagger into his stomach before driving him into the ground with all the force in his body.
The impact broke more bones than the dagger ravaging through his ribs.
"Arggggg!" Windbery screamed in pain as he tried to crawl out of Enzo's grip.
They were consumed by the sentient blood, but they weren't absolved from the pain of being injured repeatedly… That is, if you could even call this an injury.
This was straight-up torture.
"That thing… it's too powerful," Kara complained, blood dripping from her dislocated shoulder, her bone sticking out. Enzo had really done a number on them in these past few minutes.
If not for their insane healing factor from the sentient blood, they would have all been killed.
"What do we do?" Kara watched as Enzo stood up from atop Windbery and placed his foot on his head.
If they didn't do something, Enzo would kill him.
"We? We can't do anything." Dandan was also at a loss for words. This battle had taken a seriously abrupt turn. Enzo had suddenly become invincible.
'Do we really have a choice?'
Dandan battled with a decision in his head, but as he turned to the battlefield far in the distance, a daunting realization dawned on him.
Enzo… this little shithead was bidding for time.
Victoria, at this point, had all but destroyed the army of monsters designed to kill her all by herself. She had done so in 20 minutes, and in the next 10… she would be upon them.
"Fuck!!! I have to wake her up," Dandan cursed.
Ordinarily, they were meant to be the second line of defense for the sentient blood pool. It was already on the verge of becoming a god-being.
But it needed time to reach that stage. Enzo was just an annoying pest at this point. A pest that they couldn't beat on their own.
-bam!! Bam!!!
Enzo's foot continuously came down on Windbery's head repeatedly. Every time it did, however, it would snap back and heal.
This was only natural, as killing the already dead was a tricky affair.
Soon though, after repeated tries, Windbery stopped healing until finally—
He died under the foot of Enzo.
"One down, two to go," Enzo muttered under his breath. If he had known how overpowered this armor set was, he would have used it from the very start.
Unfortunately, in his bid to hide it from Thane, he never tested it out.
"Hmm." Enzo raised his head and smiled evilly in the direction of the old man Dandan.
But for some reason, he received a warm smile right back.
Had the old man lost his mind from watching his friend brutally murdered? What was this? Enzo was confused.
But only for a brief moment, as in the next second he noticed a figure running towards him from the blood pool at an incredible pace.
"Victoria?" He was taken aback as he slowly panned his head away to the battlefield in the distance.
Victoria was clearly still fighting there, and he could tell from the echoes and screams in the air.
So who was this? Or better yet, what was this?
