Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — “The Crimson Sun of Destruction”

Rias was cornered, surviving only thanks to her regeneration.

"Finish her!" one of the priests shouted.

"N-no!" Rias cried out, her body trembling, breath ragged.

In that moment, her mind filled with flashes of her life—her mother, her father, her brother… her friend Sona… her older sister, Serafall.

Did I really live the way I wanted? she thought. I spent my whole life acting proud and dignified… but was I truly worthy? My family ties are weak, and aside from Sona, I have no real friends. Did I truly live as I wished?

She clenched her fists.

No… there are still things I need to do. Bonds to repair. Friends to find. And above all—

Live.

I will live as I desire. I am proud. I am powerful…

"I am RIAS GREMORY!" she roared. "AHHHHHH—MOVE!"

From deep within her soul, the Power of Destruction erupted violently, eroding the magical seal that held her captive.

"I won't die by your hands, you bastards! Remember my name in death—"

Her voice turned fierce, defiant.

"I AM RIAS GREMORY!"

Her hands rose in a peculiar stance, and her voice echoed like a divine decree.

"Domain Expansion… Cursed Reliquary Beneath the Crimson Sun!"

The world trembled. Out of nowhere, a colossal temple materialized, crowned by a blood-red sun burning overhead. The density of the destructive magic was overwhelming—any High-Class demon would be annihilated within seconds, and even an Ultimate-Class would last no more than twenty.

But Rias's enemies didn't even get that.

The instant the domain formed, thousands—no, millions—of slashes erupted through the air, reducing everything to dust. Earth, stone, flesh, and magic—obliterated. Within seconds, the entire field was consumed by destruction absolute.

And in the center of it all stood Rias Gremory.

"Incredible…" Rias whispered. "I can feel my strength rising."

Her wounds closed rapidly, her vitality overflowing.

"I guess this is over… I should hide for a while. I've caused enough of a commotion already."

She vanished into the distance—just moments before others arrived.

A flash of light split the air. Azazel, the leader of the Fallen Angels, appeared amidst the scorched ruins.

"What a mess…" he muttered, examining the devastation. "I sensed an enormous magical surge and came to investigate, but it seems I'm late."

"So, you're here too?" said a calm, feminine voice.

Azazel turned, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, what an honor to meet you here, Lady Amaterasu."

The Goddess of the Sun stood before him—long black hair cascading down her back, golden eyes shining like twin suns.

"Save your flattery," she said coldly. "We have more pressing matters. What happened here?"

Azazel nodded. "It seems some of my exiled subordinates gathered here. I was tracking them down."

"Then we share the same concern, brother," said another voice from above.

A ten-winged angel descended gracefully—it was Michael. His golden hair gleamed like divine fire, and his serene face carried the radiance of heaven itself.

"I received reports that several priests and two Excalibur wielders had assembled. I came to investigate personally, but… it seems I, too, am late."

"So we're all late, then," came another voice—Sirzechs Lucifer.

Azazel smirked slightly.

"Sirzechs, I think both of us know who caused this. And as far as I remember, you weren't supposed to offer your sister protection. Still… that's your faction's problem, not mine."

"I don't know what you're implying," Sirzechs replied smoothly. "I was merely pursuing a group of suspicious demons."

Their eyes met—tension thick in the air.

Michael sighed softly.

"Azazel, do you know who did this? It's vital we find out. Whoever caused this surely took the Excaliburs."

Sirzechs remained silent, unwilling to confirm the worst.

Azazel shrugged. "Can't think of anyone else but the young genius of House Gremory. I heard she was brought to this region."

"Oh? And how would you know that?" Sirzechs asked, his tone turning sharp.

"Simple," Azazel said calmly. "It came up through my information network."

Amaterasu folded her arms. "So, Sirzechs, are you saying this was your sister's doing?"

Sirzechs closed his eyes for a moment. "It's the most likely explanation."

Michael's voice trembled slightly.

"Then please… tell her to return the Excaliburs. They're too sacred, too important to be lost."

Sirzechs's gaze darkened.

"Even if I wanted to, I don't know where my sister is right now."

Meanwhile, far from the destruction, Rias was walking along a dusty road toward a distant city.

"Where am I…?" she murmured.

Upon reaching the outskirts, she approached an elderly woman passing by.

"Excuse me, what city is this?"

"This is Kuon City, dear. Are you lost?"

"No, just curious," Rias replied with a small smile. "I couldn't remember."

"Oh, I see. Well, good luck on your way, young lady."

The old woman pulled out some candy from her bag and handed it to her.

"Here, take this for your journey."

"Thank you," Rias said softly, accepting it.

As soon as Rias disappeared down the road, the old woman pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"Yes… I found an excellent specimen. She's heading toward the Shinto shrine."

Meanwhile, Rias walked with renewed purpose.

She knew exactly where to go—

To the place where her future Queen awaited.

Akeno Himejima.
