Chapter 19 - Warm Welcome at Desai House

After dropping Sanya at the Desai mansion, Mukul waved and reminded her, "I'll be back before dinner. Take care." Sanya nodded, feeling a mix of pride and warmth, and stepped inside. The moment she entered, she saw Ishita Desai, the fourth sister, waiting in the living room with Shreya, while Mukul's parents, Raghav and Nandini Desai, stood nearby. The atmosphere was filled with excitement; everyone was eagerly waiting for their youngest brother to return.

Ishita's eyes lit up as she spotted Sanya. "Where's Mukul? I've been waiting for him all day!" she asked, a slight pout forming on her lips. Sanya smiled gently, understanding her sister's disappointment. "He has some work to finish," she explained. "But he'll be back before dinner, I promise."

Ishita's face fell slightly, sadness crossing her features, but it was short-lived. She quickly looked at Sanya and asked, "What did he do at the hospital today? Tell me everything!"

Sanya's eyes sparkled with excitement. She began to narrate the events in detail, describing how Mukul had protected her, saved Arjun Verma, and stood up to the powerful Verma family with his confidence and determination. She told them about his calm yet commanding presence, the acupuncture that restored the patient, and how even the most sceptical doctors had witnessed his extraordinary skill.

Raghav and Nandini exchanged astonished glances, their respect and admiration for their son growing with each word. Shreya listened intently, a proud smile on her face, knowing Mukul was proving himself not just as a prodigy, but as a protector of those he cared for.

By the time Sanya finished, Mukul had returned home. As he stepped into the mansion, the room seemed to light up with joy. Five faces—Shreya, Sanya, Ishita, and their parents—turned toward him, smiling warmly. The warmth in the room was almost tangible.

Ishita didn't wait a second. She ran toward Mukul, tears welling in her eyes, and threw her arms around him in a tight hug. Mukul instinctively hugged her back, feeling the mix of emotion and relief that he had finally reunited with his family.

After a few moments, Ishita pulled back slightly, still holding Mukul's hands. She brushed a tear from her cheek and pressed a soft kiss on his forehead, then another on his cheek. "I'm Ishita Desai," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I'm your fourth sister… and I've missed you so much."

Mukul smiled gently, holding her hands firmly. "I've missed all of you, too," he replied softly. His voice carried warmth and reassurance, letting his family know he was finally home.

Shreya, Sanya, Raghav, and Nandini watched the reunion with tears in their eyes, their hearts full of relief and happiness. Shreya stepped forward, lightly nudging Mukul's shoulder. "Don't think you can get away without telling us all your adventures today," she said teasingly, though her eyes shone with pride.

Sanya beamed, squeezing Mukul's hand. "He saved a patient… and even stood up to the entire Verma family! You should've seen him," she said, her voice filled with admiration.

Raghav, towering and strong yet with a gentle expression, placed a hand on Mukul's shoulder. "You're becoming more than just my son," he said warmly. "You're becoming someone the world will respect."

Nandini, her eyes glistening with tears of pride, added softly, "We've always known you were special, Mukul. But seeing you protect your sister, save lives, and handle everything so calmly… I'm proud beyond words."

Ishita squeezed Mukul's hands again, looking up at him with admiration. "I can't wait to spend time with you. And I want to know everything you're doing. You're not just our brother—you're extraordinary," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Mukul looked around at his family—Shreya's proud gaze, Sanya's joyful smile, Ishita's teary admiration, and his parents' warm expressions—and he felt a deep sense of belonging. For the first time since his rebirth, he was truly home.

"I promise," Mukul said, smiling gently, "I'll protect all of you, no matter what. And I'll always come back before dinner."

The family laughed, a sound filled with relief and love. The mansion, grand as it was, felt even warmer now, filled with the bonds of family and the excitement of reunions. Mukul's heart swelled with happiness as he realised that after all his struggles and hard work, he finally had his family by his side.

And in that moment, surrounded by his sisters and parents, Mukul knew that no matter how challenging the world became, he had a home to return to—a place of warmth, love, and endless support.
