Angelo's POV
I walked into the hospital for a routine body check-up, nothing serious, just the usual tests. The waiting room smelled like antiseptic, and the faint hum of machines filled the air. Soon enough, the nurse called my name, and I followed her into the doctor's office.
After a series of tests, including a DNA check, I put my phone down on the doctor's table while he reviewed my results. He glanced at my phone wallpaper, then raised an eyebrow.
"Do you have a relationship with this girl?" he asked, pointing at the photo.
I looked and saw the picture: me, Aries, and Jayjay. "Oh, no," I said quickly. "She's my cousin, why "
He leaned back. "Not really… though about a month ago, I helped her and her friends with some injuries."
My stomach tightened. "What do you mean by that?"
He explained, "She's a family doctor of the Voss family."
I blinked. Voss family… That's Adrian's family — of course, that makes sense now.
I leaned forward. "Okay… can you please tell me exactly what happened?"
He nodded. "Around late evening, the Voss family called me. They needed help to bandage some wounds. When I arrived, your cousin — the one in the picture — was lying down with blood on her dress. There was also a handsome boy lying next to her with an injury on his shoulder."
My chest tightened. Without thinking, I grabbed my phone and opened my gallery. I searched for Kiefer's photo and showed it to the doctor.
"Is this the guy?" I asked.
He looked carefully. "Yes… that's him". "Injured on the shoulder." i said
He nodded gravely. "Yes. Shoulder injury."
Anger and concern surged through me. How could this have happened without me knowing? I clenched my fists in my lap, furious that my cousin and Kiefer had been in danger.
"Thank you, doctor," I said, my voice controlled but firm. After finishing my check-up.
As soon as I reached my car, I dialed Jayjay. The phone rang, and I heard her pick up.
"Jasper Jean Mariano Fernandez! Come home right now. You have a lot to explain! If what I've heard is true…"
I cut the call immediately, my jaw tight. I had my proof.
