Chapter 56: Deep Breaths, Dizziness is Normal
In the silent, deserted alleyway, the shadowed man carried the long-haired young man on his shoulder, pausing in front of a black iron door.
As a rhythmic, deliberate knocking sounded from within, the man withdrew his hand and quietly stood at the door, waiting.
After a long moment, the iron door opened from the inside. Without a word, the shadowed man stepped in, carrying Huo Yuhao.
Inside, there were Eight people in total—spirit masters. One Spirit King, three Spirit Elders, and the rest Grandmasters.
In the dark room, five more captives were held; judging from their auras, they appeared to be ordinary civilians.
Through spirit perception, Huo Yuhao, seemingly unconscious, had already grasped the full information of everyone in the room the instant he was brought inside.
"What's going on? Didn't I tell you to keep a low profile recently?"
The Spirit King's brow furrowed upon seeing Huo Yuhao on the man's shoulder, his voice radiating a cold, oppressive aura.
"Don't worry, don't worry. I checked the surroundings before I acted. Absolutely no one saw anything!"
The shadowed man shrank back, a hint of fear in his eyes, glancing away nervously.
"It better be that way."
The Spirit King snorted coldly before shifting his gaze to Huo Yuhao on the man's shoulder. His tone turned curious. "What kind of piece of work made you so… captivated?"
At those words, the shadowed man's throat bobbed nervously, a sly, almost lecherous grin appearing on his face.
"I ran into him by chance on the street last night. Young… and that face—absolutely top-tier!"
At this, several in the room shared knowing smirks, their eyes glinting with unspoken meaning. Only one youth, slender and young-looking, frowned in discomfort.
"Is that so?"
The Spirit King's interest was piqued. He gestured to a burly Spirit Elder standing nearby. Understanding immediately, the man moved to lift Huo Yuhao's hair and get a better look at his face. But the shadowed man instinctively took a step back, stammering:
"Boss… I worked hard to get this one, you can't just… take it alone!"
"Hm?" The Spirit King frowned, and his aura pressed down like a mountain. "When did I ever take your people? I only 'borrowed' them for a little while, didn't I?"
Seeing the shadowed man clench his teeth, too afraid to argue, he nodded to the burly man to continue.
The burly spirit elder lifted Huo Yuhao's hair and gently cupped his chin, revealing the young man's exquisite face to everyone.
Though pale from the cold, the youthful face exuded a beauty that made all who saw it instinctively hold their breath.
After a brief moment of stunned silence, all eyes, except the frowning youth's, shone with desire. Waves of lust flooded into Huo Yuhao's spiritual sea, sending chills down his spine.
{T/N: Ohh hooo, They are BTS... sorry, I mean Gay. sorry BTS lovers}
These monsters…
Hearing Skydream's raucous laughter, Huo Yuhao fought to suppress the urge to act. He focused on the frowning youth, hoping to learn more.
The burly spirit elder nearest to him could see most clearly. A faint scent reached his nose, and his eyes glittered with excitement. His breathing even grew heavier.
"Boss… truly a rare gem!"
"I see it… not bad, very good."
The Spirit King murmured approvingly and clapped his hands in excitement.
"Alright. Send this one to that room. Tomorrow, I'll have my fun."
The shadowed man's face paled at this, but he dared not protest under the Spirit King's piercing gaze.
As he prepared to carry Huo Yuhao away, a sudden voice rang out from the room:
"Uncle Jiang, this is clearly still a child. Let him go."
The room fell into stunned silence, every movement frozen. The Spirit King, called Jiang, turned cold, his eyes cutting like blades at the young speaker.
"What did you say?"
Shrouded in invisible pressure, the youth's face went pale, but he grit his teeth and answered:
"When you invited me to join, it wasn't supposed to be like this.
"What do you do every day now? How many of those you captured were truly evil? Fine, that alone is troubling enough, but now you've gone further—targeting an innocent child!"
The burly Soul Elder moved as if to act, but Jiang halted him with a gesture. He stepped before the youth, whose body trembled with fear, yet met Jiang's gaze without flinching. Jiang sneered.
"If I hadn't saved you, do you think you'd be alive now, standing here to speak? In less than two months, have you already forgotten the arrogance of those people? Forgotten how they oppressed you because of your Spirit? How did they drive you to the edge of despair?"
"But these people are innocent…"
Before the youth could finish, Jiang interrupted sharply.
"Ridiculous. Are we not innocent too? Just because our Spirit is considered evil, we're called Evil Spirit Masters! Everyone is innocent, so why must only we suffer?"
"What we do now is just revenge—returning the injustices the world inflicted on us back to it."
He leaned close, voice icy and cold.
"I tolerated you for your talent, yet you are so weak. Now my mind has changed. Kill this child, and only then will you truly be one of us."
The youth shuddered instinctively.
"What?"
"Now. Immediately. Kill the one Old Three brought here."
Jiang's gaze was icy, his words sealing the youth's fate.
"If this child lives, you die."
The youth's body shook, glancing at the unconscious Huo Yuhao and then at Jiang's cold eyes.
"Why…?"
Fear overwhelmed him. He stumbled backward, collapsed onto the ground, lips trembling, a strangled sob escaping.
"Why must it be this way? Why must I hurt others just to survive? I only… I only want to live!"
He lifted his tear-streaked face, screaming at Jiang.
"What did I do in my past life to deserve this? Born with a Spirit I cannot control, punished for it… even living feels like a crime! Why will none of you leave me be?!"
"Sorry. Because this world is cruel. Most times, we have no choice."
Jiang's eyes softened with pity, but his tone remained chilling. "I'm afraid… You didn't pass the test."
Then—
A sound like a blade cutting through flesh pierced the tense silence.
Following the noise, everyone's gaze fell on the burly Spirit Elder, who choked on his own blood, hands futilely clutching his throat.
Huo Yuhao, previously carried by the shadowed man, now stood before him, dagger in hand, eyes open, voice low and calm:
"Take deep breaths. Feeling dizzy is normal."
Only after the man's body convulsed and collapsed did Huo Yuhao glance around at the still-shocked onlookers. His eyes finally settled on the youth.
As if answering his earlier question, he spoke softly:
"You are not wrong."
