Yoruichi Shihōin was fighting two-on-one and was already at a disadvantage.
"ROAR!!!" Jerome, The Roar, shouted.
His ability was to use sound to create attacks.
Yoruichi Shihōin couldn't dodge in time. She was hit by the sonic shockwave from Jerome, let out a grunt, and blood flowed from both her ears.
She had no time to treat her injuries before Cang Du, The Iron, attacked with his sharp claws.
Cang Du's ability was somewhat similar to the Onmitsukidō; he was a speed-type.
If it were just one-on-one, Yoruichi could easily handle him.
But she was also dealing with the interference from the sonic shockwave and couldn't cope with Cang Du's attack.
Squelch—
Yoruichi tried her best to dodge, but her back was still raked by the steel claws, leaving several bloody marks.
However, Cang Du saw a slight smile on Yoruichi's face, and a bad feeling suddenly rose in his heart.
Yoruichi took another sonic blast head-on. She slid underneath Cang Du and quickly threw several punches.
Bang, bang, bang—
Cang Du raised his arms to block, but his body was inevitably knocked back by the immense force.
Just then, a golden rain suddenly fell from the sky.
Jerome, The Roar, didn't have time to worry about his companion. He opened his own Reishi shield and blocked the lightning-flame attacking him.
But Cang Du wasn't so lucky.
He had just been knocked back by Yoruichi and had no time to recover before he was hit squarely by the lightning-flame.
The lightning-flame landed on Cang Du. The power of the blast exploded instantly.
Boom, boom, boom—
Fire and electrical arcs instantly swallowed Cang Du's form.
At the same time, the three enemies that Sora's shadow clones were fighting also faced the "golden rain".
Driscoll (The Overkill) and Pepe (The Love), both in their 'Vollständig' states, used their own techniques to block the attack.
But the new knight, who couldn't use 'Vollständig', was killed on the spot by the falling lightning-flame.
"Newcomers are unreliable after all. They just can't get involved in a fight of this intensity."
Gremmy, The Visionary, glanced at his dead companion without a trace of concern.
Cang Du had also been hit by a lot of the lightning-flame. He was badly injured by the explosions and lost most of his fighting power.
Yoruichi seized the chance and quickly finished him off, her short sword slashing across Cang Du's abdomen.
"Your teamwork is pretty bad!" Yoruichi mocked.
A moment ago, Jerome just needed to help block the attack, and he could have saved Cang Du.
But he didn't. He chose to look out for himself.
"What do you know? If that trash died, he died!" Jerome, The Roar, shouted, and another sonic shockwave shot toward Yoruichi.
On the other side, Sora's fight with Gremmy (The Visionary) was still going.
The blade Sora swung was shining with dazzling lightning.
Gremmy (The Visionary) raised his hand, and layers of steel walls grew from the ground.
But they were like tofu, cut open directly by Sora's blade.
The sword flashed, and Gremmy was cut in half.
The next moment, another Gremmy appeared behind Sora.
The one he just cut was only a product of his imagination!
Gremmy raised his hand, and a Reishi beam shot quickly toward Sora.
Sora's expression didn't change. He swung his sword backhanded, cutting the Reishi beam in half.
He then slashed toward Gremmy, following the beam's path.
Just then, Gremmy's body broke into pieces, like crumbling building blocks.
This Gremmy was also a product of his imagination!
The Gremmy fragments exploded suddenly.
At the same time, the pink-haired old men who had been watching from the sidelines swarmed in.
"BOOM—!!!"
The intense explosion forced everyone else to stop and block the shockwave.
The surrounding buildings were all flattened.
A moment later, the after-effects of the explosion faded.
Gremmy's (The Visionary) figure reappeared in the air.
"He's fine even after that? How troublesome."
Gremmy turned his head. Behind him, Sora was completely unharmed.
"Maybe you should know something. I am the fastest Shinigami," Sora said with a light laugh.
With the enhancement of several states, Sora's speed already exceeded the speed of sound.
Even a point-blank explosion couldn't catch him.
"That really is a problem," Gremmy shook his head. "However, it looks like things are about to get more complicated."
Sora turned his head and saw that more Quincy had arrived.
But Sora wasn't worried.
Because from the direction of the Sun Gate, many more Spiritual Pressure fluctuations had appeared.
The reinforcements from both sides had arrived!
"The Shinigami captured the 'Sun Gate'!"
The faces of the newly arrived Quincy all changed.
"You don't seem worried at all," Sora said, looking back at Gremmy.
He saw the Shinigami reinforcements arrive, but he still wasn't nervous.
"That's because I'm strong!" Gremmy (The Visionary) smiled. "What do I have to worry about? The one who should be worried... is my opponent!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a violent tremor came from the ground.
The ground suddenly split open. A large section of the ground vanished, even the area near the 'Sun Gate'.
"Oh no! The 'Sun Gate' is collapsing!"
The technicians next to the Sun Gate were shocked, but they couldn't stop the cracking ground from destroying the 'Sun Gate'.
The 'Sun Gate' was a semi-circular ring, with half of it already underground. The splitting ground tore the 'Sun Gate' apart along with it.
The sudden event destroyed the 'Sun Gate'.
The entrance vanished. This left many Shinigami trapped in the shadow passage, or still back in the Soul Society, unable to come over.
"Calm down!" Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto barked.
He was the first one out of the shadow passage, so he was not affected.
Besides him, the forces from Squad 6, Squad 8, Squad 9, and Squad 10 had already arrived in the Wandenreich.
Squad 11, Squad 13, and the squads responsible for support and medical care—Squad 3, Squad 4, and Squad 5—had not made it here.
"Is it possible to repair the 'Sun Gate'?" Shunsui Kyōraku asked Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
"Don't you think asking someone to repair something that's been smashed to pieces is a bit much? You'd be better off asking me to build a new one!"
Mayuri said, rolling his eyes as he looked at the fragments of the 'Sun Gate' mixed in the rubble.
"How long would it take to build a new one?" Sōjun Kuchiki asked.
"Even though we've broken down all the related Reishi technology, it will still take at least three days." Mayuri held up three fingers.
"In other words, we have no more reinforcements," Isshin Shiba frowned.
"Then we'll have to rely on ourselves," Kensei Muguruma cracked his knuckles, showing no fear.
"Even if some of our forces didn't make it, we must win this war!"
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's gaze swept over the captains as he spoke in a low, serious voice.
"Yes, sir!"
The Shinigami's backbone, Captain-Commander Yamamoto, was here. Their morale was not affected, and they quickly calmed down.
